High igf -1 on trt.
My igf-1 came back high (227) I am on 175mg per week. My free test was 935 aND free test 21.6. My doc wants to rule out acromegaly so he wants to do a gh suppression test. Before I started trt he did an MRI to see if I had a pit tumor.....came back negative. Is there reason for me to be concern? Can trt develop a tumor? Thanks

I'm astounded, that value is absolutely normal. What is your age?
You don't have any GH excess or acromegaly, your doc is off the charts. No reason to worry.

Those are very healthy natural levels to have at your age. The TRT plays a role there.
Again, nothing of concern.

I seem to remember that androgens increase the effect of GH on stimulating IGF-1 production, so it is not surprising that IFG-1 levels would go up. With regard to you specific level, I would agree with the other posters that it does not seem to be excessively high. The number needs to be interpreted within your lab's normal ranges, but here are some numbers that from LabCorp that show it is very close to the normal range.

Normal range for a 41-50 year old male is 121-237 with a mean of 160 (mg/mL). So, I'd just be happy with the result and ignore the doc.
