Female, looking for help finding doc, using for IBD

    Hi guys,

I'm a 47-year-old female, completely new to all of this. I've been dealing with hormone issues for decades (adrenal fatigue, hypothyroid, estrogen dominance, libido disappeared, etc.) and have had Crohn's disease since 1982. I'm currently treating (or actually just stopped and am crashing hard) with very low dose nandrolone (inj) and stanozolol (caps) for IBD/Crohn's disease. The idea behind this doctor's protocol, in short, is that since lowering SHGB has a profound impact on inflammation in the body, people with IBD greatly benefit from the low dosages. After just one month, I felt amazing. As a former gym rat and personal trainer unable to do any exercise for the last 10 years, I'm in heaven over the small gains I saw after just one month of therapy. (I was always a hard gainer.)

Anyway, this doc is extremely challenging to work with. I'm looking for a replacement doc, one that is trustworthy, level-headed and open to prescribing compounded meds and following me for the same purpose. I would also love for them to understand that I'm on T3 only due to an inability to convert T4, and not have them force me to take any T4. I live in the Los Angeles area.

Oh, also, I read the sticky on finding a doc and would love to know the labs recommended for females. Will also post this in the female forum.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Scout

Thanks for the thought, Juced_Porkchop. Unfortunately, cannabis does absolutely nothing compared to how the nan and stan made me feel. It's more than just the Crohn's, it's all of the hormonal dysfunction that comes with a lifelong history of it. But I do have a card and put it to use...

I can't help with finding a doc but can commiserate with the auto immune type issues. I've been considering experimenting with low dose AAS to enhance the function and recovery of my body in the presence of such issues, which make it nearly impossible for me to build the "proper base" that is usually recommended to work off of before enhancing with AAS. Interesting your doctor has you on nandrolone and stanozolol as those are the very two AAS I have been researching to start with, thinking they would be the most helpful for my situation. I'd be interested in hearing about the dosages you are taking as a female.

I researched into this some more and found some interesting material in Anabolic Therapy in Modern Medicine by William N. Taylor, M.D. Chapter 7 is titled "Rationale for Anabolic Therapy in Autoimmune Diseases" and some of it is available online through a Google book search.

    google book search book excerpt

I have a copy of the book on the way, but from the precursory glance it would appear there are positive benefits associated with therapeutic use of AAS to help with various aspects of autoimmunity and wasting, and especially beneficial for neurotransmitters, neurological issues, and demyelination that accompanies autoimmunity, for both males and females.

I'm glad you posted this and it's nice to hear there are docs willing to look outside the box to help with health issues that mainstream medicine most often addresses with suppression therapy in order to eliminate symptoms.
