Stick to ARBs and ACE inhibitors

^x2. Stay away from Beta Blockers like Propranolol etc. Years ago I used to take these to keep migraine headaches away and this was a definite, unwanted side effect...

    Like BB said.

I prefer ramipril, no side effects whatsoever, except maybe some increased sensitivity to insulin , which is a pretty sweet side effect.
AAS upregulate the Ang2 secretion anyways, so ACE inhibitors (or ARBs) are the logical first choice. And they all have secondary effects that are positive for your health.

Losartan works for me. Started at the lowest possible dose (25 mg) for a year and recently upped it to 50 mg. No side-effects that I can determine. And definitely none below the belt.

I've been taking accupril / quinapril, which is an ACE inhibitor for over a year. I haven't really noticed any side effects, but it doesn't seem to lower my BP that much. It must not be a popular BP med, because I can't find many user reviews online compared to other meds.

I've read that ARBs are newer and better than ACE inhibitors. For example, Losartan can help lower high hematocrit from Polycythemia.

Has anyone else used Losartan / Cozaar? What are your experiences with it?
