Now I'm confused.

I recently joined the forum here to get some help with what seems like symptoms of low testosterone. As I mentioned in the new members section, I recently got back the results from a male hormone panel I had sent away. The results were not what I was expecting. I apologize if this isn't the right place for this, but I wanted to post my results below and see if anyone could further explain them.

DHEA/S - 5 normal
Progesterone - 36 normal
Androstenedione - 141 low
Estrone - 46 normal
Testosterone - 58 normal
Estradiol - 7 high
DHT - 77 normal

The description beside each number was what the lab put in the report. So now, what does it all mean as far as these low T symptoms? Everything says normal except the Andro and the Estradiol. Would those have any effect on a normally healthy person and if so, in which way? Thank you for the help.

Loss of strength not due to an injury
Poor libido
Poor sleeping patterns
Hair loss
Irritability

All mostly in the last 2 years or so.

You need further blood work for it to be reasonably assessed. Also need to post ranges.

Fill in the blanks with LH/FSH, cortisol, prolactin, free T, full thyroid panel.

What are the units and ranges???

Like Kel said, very incomplete bloodwork. Nevertheless there are plenty of other reasons for the symptoms you presented.
Also, dont know your age, but if you are not over 40, where testosterone levels are supposed to start declining, if you had low testosterone you should be diagnosed for the underlying reason of low test.

Many times low test can be a symptom of something else not being right.

I have the ranges and info finally. I'll post below.

DHEA/'S - Normal range is considered between 3 and 10 ng/ml. Mine is 5.

Progesterone - Normal range is between 5 and 95 pg/ml. Mine is 36.

Androstenedione - Normal range is between 141 and 350 pg/ml. Mine is 141.

Estrone - Normal is between 30 and 58 pg/ml. Mine is 46.

Free Test - Normal is between 40 and 70 pg/ml. Mine is 58.

Estradiol - Normal range is between 1 and 3 pg/ml. Mine is 7.

DHT - Normal is between 52 and 123 pg/ml. Mine is 77.

Pg/ml is apparently picograms per milliliters.

Ng/ml is nanograms per milliliters.

So obviously the Estradiol is the concern. Tomorrow I meet with my doctor and will see what he says. He may refer me to an endocrinologist. We'll see.

Just finished my doctors appointment. Showed him the results. He said he wouldn't treat me for the high estradiol. He said the amount is miniscule. All he would do is refer me to an endocrinologist. Both my GP, and my urologist are very much against hormone replacement therapy. They both told me that. They talked about prostate cancer and other risk factors. So I guess I'll wait until I see the endocrinologist, and see what happens. Being this is Canada, that might be a year.

Have you changed your diet in this past 2 years? Low carbs for long period of time can lead to this symptoms.

Your androgens profile is OK, e2 a bit high but is it a sensitive assay?

How are your stress levels and cardio protocol?

Not always the best solution is in a pill or an injection, keep an open mind.

Please see a different Urologist!! Trust me... Just try a different one.
