What blood work to get done?
So posted here before about some blood work my Dr (primary care) ordered, total t, free t, shbg level, bio available T, the follow up with him, then an appointment with an endo. She recommended diet and lifestyle changes and recommended a couple of OTC supps that might help with the high shbg levels. I came home and did a little more research about supps to raise T and lower shbg levels and ordered some from a trusted source. Here is what I have been taking for close to a month now.
vitamin d, zinc, magnesium, boron, stinging nettle root, tongkat ali, fenugreek seed, ashwagandha extract, tribulus extract, horny goat weed and korean ginseng. Now some of these may be like snake oil, very little scientific eveidence that they help with testosterone or shbg. But I figure it's worth a try. But the price I paid for all those supps for a month was probably about half of going on trt (close to $90 for a months supply).
So now here is the big question, I'm about a week or two away from getting some blood work done to see if there is any change to any of my hormones. I suspect I might have high estrogen levels, but I could be wrong. I know I need to get total t, free t and shbg and estrogen checked. Anything else?
I feel better, many parts seem to be working better, morning erections a few times a week, more ejaculate matter, more energy, less fatigue. Just wonder if it's all in my head, taking all these supps must be making me better. Hence to put my mind at ease the blood work.
