TRT: Weekly T-Shot of 80mg gets me #1049
Is a T-number of 1049 too high? I had it tested right between injections, at 3 1/2 days.
Previous to that, my doctor started me on 200 mg every two weeks, which got me to 960.
When I went to the weekly injections of 100 mg, it went up to 1279, too high for the doctor to be comfortable with. But he didn't have an issue with the current number of 1049.
I feel great. What do you think? Should I lower it just a hair myself to be safer, or leaves it as-is?
Thank you, Bill

Do you have total, free and shbg test numbers?
The total number isn't the end all be all. How much are you on, if I'm reading correctly only 80mg a week and you're over 1000?

Not necessarily to high at all. Depends on other numbers like goalinmind mentioned. Post them if you have them.
200 mgs every 2 weeks and a 960 TT level? When was blood drawn for this test?
Same question for 100 mgs, when was BW pulled?
Main thing is to keep an eye on your RBC's (hema) and make sure your blood isn't getting thick.

Goalinmind: yes, that's 80 mg once a week. Unfortunately, they only tested for total testosterone .
Kelkel: currently doing 80 mg once a week, bloodwork was done halfway through, at exactly 3 1/2 days, in the morning. When I get home, I will post the exact numbers from the results. Unfortunately, on the T level, it's only total, they don't have the results for free testosterone. So I will have to ask for that the next time I have blood work done.
Thank you! Bill

Most people test at the end of the injection cycle, so when you test mid-cycle, it's comparing apples to oranges asking people to comment. The best I can do is offer up this graph of a small study of 6 healthy, young volunteers that had 200 mg T-cyp or 194 mg T-eth injected and then had daily blood draws to plot out the normal decay curve for the two t esters. Also keep in mind that you cannot compare numbers from one lab to another because "normal" values differ between labs.
Now to get on my soap box. Weekly injections are a recipe for disaster. The human body does not adapt well to big fluctuations in hormones like that. I strongly suggest you consider more frequent injections. Some guys do 50 mg twice weekly. I personally prefer the every 3 day (40-50 mg) method. You have much smoother hormone levels and always within the normal range, both on the peak and the nadir.

I'll also attest to the 2x per week injection protocol. I've been on just about every injection schedule that is typically used and 2x/week tops them all thus far. As Y55guy posted with the once/week schedule you get this huge spike and then dwindle down way low, plus more T to E conversion. It really takes a toll after a while when you're riding a rollercoaster all the time.
I'm scripted 150mg cyp/week, but only inject .3cc 2x/week and my TotalT is high 700s to low 800s just prior to injection, but my free T is slightly over the top of the range. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Thank you for the replies!
Kelkel: I don't have (can't find) the lastest complete BW sheet...I will pick up a copy in the next few days though, and post a shot of it. I appreciate you looking at it for me.
Youthful55 and AlmostGone: You've convinced me, I will switch to twice a week, starting Thurs. Everything I've been reading on the forum promotes this. So glad I'm no longer doing 200 mg ev two weeks, lol. Just need to get some insulin syringes, what I have will not be accurate enough for those low dosages.

Believe you will be very happy with that protocol, Bill. Still need to monitor your Total and Free T, and also E2 via sensitive estradiol test.
I've also been on the 200 every 2 weeks and the first 4-5 days were great, the rest sucked. I have a not so great health history and the only local Dr. that would even agree to treat me started me off @ 200mg 1/month. It was total hell.
Gradually convinced her to change protocol and now she's a believer after seeing the labs she draws and what I pulled on my own via privatemdlabs. They have a male hormone panel that is pretty comprehensive, think the only thing I added to it was ferritin, and SHBG or maybe it was Vitamin D,25-hydroxy? It will say in the test description what all is included.
Edit: You will probably be able to slightly lower your dosage but you will have to pull labs to tell. I would try the new protocol and pull labs in ~ 6 weeks and adjust as needed. Even though it probably doesn't make a huge difference on 2x/week protocol, I still always pull labs on the morning of an injection day. That way you can compare differences in dosages at ~ the same time in regards to your last injection.
Also, it may take a few weeks before you really begin to notice how well the more frequent injections smooth out the highs and lows. For the first couple of weeks I missed the initial "bang" of the one big dose per week, but as the levels started to come up I found that I really liked the 2x/week soooo much better. Just give it a little time and update us on how your like it compared to once/week, please.Last edited by almostgone; 09-11-2017 at 08:03 PM.
