    dosage question

I was originally prescribed 1ml a week of test-c and have been doing two .5ml injections a week using a 1ml insulin syringe. As of my last Dr appointment the Dr. upped my dose to 1.25ml per week with him assuming I am doing 1 weekly injection. So with me being a tard when it comes to math/numbers I am finding it difficult to figure out how to split 1.25ml into 2 doses. I do not know what half of 1.25ml is and how much of a 1ml slin syringe that would take. PLEASE HELP!

First the 1ML is just volume of fluid. You need to know if it's 200mg of Test/ml or 250mg/ml or 300mg/ml etc...

Once you know you know how many Milligrams of Test per Milliliter then it will be easier to divide up.

Test c is a longer ester I believe, I would just do .5 and .75 on whatever days you're already doing it

Sorry I didn't specify, my test-c is 200mg/ml. I'll attach a pic of my syringe. On the syringe in the pic I have been filling it to the 25 mark for 50ml of test per injection. If I wanna do half of my new amount (1.25ml) where do I need to fill it to?

Ok I'm an idiot, just called the dr for clerification on dosage and was told to do 125mg/week of the test. With that being said should I just dose it at 120? And if I do half of the weekly dose, what would that be on the syringe.
    Note: my test-c is 200mg/ml

No worries! It can be confusing at first.

There are 100 micro milli liters (mml) in 1 ml. (One whole Syringe)

    If you dosed 125 mml you would be taking 250mg of Test. 200mg/ml + 25mml (50mg) = 250mg

    Because the bottle is 200mg / 100mml = 2 So every 1mml = 2mg of Test

    So .25 = 50mg as you know.

So divide the dose he wants you to take by 2. 125mg/2 = 62mml (.62ml)
Since you want to split the dose into Twice a week.

Since the ratio is 2mg/mml Your dosing would be 31mml (.31ml) 2 x a week.

The 0.31 mL calculation is correct. The thing I don't like about twice a week dosing is that a week has an odd number of days, so if you dose in the morning or evening (like most do), then there is always an odd number of days between the two weekly injection intervals. Given the long half life of the ester, it's barely noticeable (if at all). However, when it comes to testing it does make a difference. Which interval do you choose for the blood draw? The lab numbers will be higher with the shorter (3 day) interval than the longer (4 day) interval.

My solution (actually my doctor's) is to split the dosing into every 3 day (E3D) dosing. That way, the interval is exactly the same between injections. As far as keeping track, I simply program it into my computer calendar with an alarm that flashes up the morning of an injection day. Quite simple and effective. I've been doing this for nearly 6 years without any dosing problems. In your case here are the calculations:

    125 gm/week / 7 days = 17.857 mg/day (round to 17.86)

    18.86 mg/day X 3 days = 53.58 mg/E3D dose (round to 53.6 mg)

    53.6 mg / 200 mg/mL = 0.27 mL EdD

That's 27 units on an insulin syringe.

That little bit of math took me longer than most and made me tired after.

Hmm what if I inject every 3.5 days? Let's say Sunday morning and Wednesday night? Or something like that? Would that be better for blood work? Btw for my last bloods I got the bloods drawn on Wednesday the morning before my injection.
