I recently switched from an anti aging clinic to a urologist. Massive savings in cost and with the way the script is written I am able to save some medication for future use. I did decide to drop the use of HCG as I have no desire in having kids. For those who are going with a clinic.. I would definitely recommend to try to switch to a urologist if you want to save some cash. Cost went from nearly $2400 a year to under a $1000.

Yeah switching was a good move, those clinics are ridiculous. I strongly recommend using HCG , it's important for a lot of things, not just fertility. Please read this sticky:

Thanks for the information.. Doc is not wanting to prescribe HCG.. This may be a tough one. Pain in the ass to switch docs.

I agree with 2Sox. When you are injecting exogenous T, endogenous LH secretion goes down to zero. This affects much more than just fertility and testicular size (though that's not discounting its importance). LH affects your entire reproductive system. Without it, your seminal volume will begin to diminish substantially.

It doesn't have to be that way.

You got me inspired to pull out the calculator to see what my program costs me. I broke it up into my "Primary (Prescribed) Hormones" and my "Ancillary Add-On Costs". The ancillaries are not prescribed and I consider optional but I'm not particularly price sensitive, so I invest in them anyway. Like you, I used to go to a clinic (the first 4 months) and then I switched to a high end hormone doc that is well known in the industry. I was with him for about 3 years and he got me on a great program. My PCP was not willing at first to prescribe the program but I kept her informed and she monitored with additional labs. After 3 years, she saw that it was a good program and it was indeed helping me, so she agreed to take it over. This brought the costs down substantially.

My Complete Hormone Program Cost

PRIMARY HORMONES (all prescribed) = $1,031.55/year

Testosterone Cypionate -Pizer branded Depo-Testosterone 200mg/mL - Local Pharmacy $63.36/10 mL. At prescribed dose of 0.2 mL E3D = 50 doses/vial = 150 days of treatment = $0.4224/day = $154.18/year

HCG - Merck branded Pregny - Local Pharmacy $125.14/10,000 IU = $0.012514/IU. At 1050 IU/week (current dose 2X more than prescribed) = $13.14/week = $683.26/year

Armour Thyroid - Cost after insurance = $0.1852/30 mg tablet. @ 60mg/day = $0.37/day = $135.19/year

Stanozolol - to control high SHBG - Alpha Pharma branded Rexobol - Overseas supplier - At 0.25mg 2X per day = 0.5mg/day = 182.5mg/year. At $28 /50 tabs of 10 mg + $25 shipping = $53 / 500 = $0.11 /mg = $0.11 X 182.5 = $20.08 /year (note that the $25 shipping is conservatively allocated 100% to this medication but is sometimes spread out with other ancillary meds).

Anastrozole - to control occasional borderline high E - Alpha Pharma branded Anazole - Overseas supplier - At 0.1 to 0.5 mg/week using the vodka eye dropper method = 5.2 to 26 mg/year. At $38 /30 tabs of 1 mg + $25 shipping = $2.10 / mg = $10.90 to $ $54.60 /year. Assume ~$33/year mid-range cost. Note 1: See Stanozolol shipping note.

Vitamin B12 Injectable - Used to dilute HCG & Peptides - Price varies by quantity purchased. Last order was about $1.24/mL with shipping included = $1.24 / 1000 mcg = $0.00124/ mcg. At ~700 mcg/week = $0.87 / week = $45.14/year

Peptides - Currently evaluating effectiveness of a program of 840 mcg Ipamorelin & 300 mcg CJC-195 per day. Cost varies by quantity ordered and available discounts. Last order projected out to 1 year was ~$1,361/year.

Additional Labs: I usually order at least 2 sets of labs per year above the very complete set my doctor orders at my annual visit. These labs usually cost ~$350 for a full set of T panel (including SHBG), DHT, Thyroid panel, and E. Total supplemental cost ~700/year. However, per note 2 below, I probably will not continue with the added thyroid paned (~166/year), so the adjusted supplemental lab cost is about $534/year
Note 1: I don't order additional Hemoglobin labs because this is tested free every 1-10 weeks when I donate blood.
Note 2: Thyroid labs are optional for me, but this past year I've been experimenting with optimizing Armour Thyroid (prescribed) and Stanozolol doses for controlling my high SHBG (Armour pushes it up & Stanozolol brings it down).

Well, now I'm doing the math and I have been doing a switch from a clinic also. The Endo was a joke and thankfully my PCP is willing to prescribe it. I'll being bypassing my insurance on the Rx, so the 3 month (10mL) of Test will be ~ $170, but I can deal with that. What has me wondering is the hCG . Pregnyl is that expensive? Dammit. I need to find some alternate routes here.

The clinics seem to stick it to you, but give you just enough to keep you coming back. The specialists are too high up on their horse and PCPs are rare.

Retail, yeah. Shopping around I can see it gets down to ~ $80-100/vial. Which is still one hell of a markup, since it costs them pennies to make and the pharmacy pays maybe, maybe $10/vial. I'm hoping they will match their competitor which said $90. Anyway, if hCG is cheap, great. I'll have to price it out.

Check places like Costco. Should be 40-50 bucks there.
