    Trt @ 28

Hello. New to the forum. I am not coming here to "take steroids " or to get advice on taking steroids. I am however looking for advice. I am 28 years old 6'2" 180 lbs. I have been into weight lifting for approximately 8 years. At least 3-4 times a week. I have been feeling very lethargic for the past year or so no matter how much or little sleep I get. I am skinny and can't put on weight and I also do not have any energy like I used to. I talked to my doctor and had full blood work done. My test came back at 524, almost 100 points less than blood work last year. I dont know if the test level has anything to do with it or not but I would rather it be low t than start taking the antidepressant and xanax the doctors keep trying to prescribe me. I refuse to take it!! I will post pictures of my lab results and I am open to all opinions and advice. Thanks!

The TSH and T4 should be the thyroid tests. They are in range.
you could try posting those tests here: https://forums.steroid.com/%2A%2Acon...eroid-cleanse/
but I am not sure if it would be much help. I would tend to think if your test levels are over 500 that is probably not the issue. But: not a doctor.

Unless I'm missing it you need:

    LH/FSH
    Prolactin
    Cortisol
    Free Testosterone
    SHBG

Free T is what works for you. Total doesn't matter all that much. Your FT could be good or bad it depends on your shbg value which is what binds testosterone. If your shbg is elevated and your free T is in the toilet odds are that's the cause of your symptoms.

What can you do about high SHBG or cortisol? I will get these checked on my next lab.

524 of total testosterone ? Definitly not a testosterone problem.

    Re cortisol:

    Better sleep/rest
    Possible dietary changes
    Vit C

    SHBG:

Much more difficult. SHBG binds both T and DHT. Immediately you can start by improving your Vit D levels which are crap. Add Vit D at 5K IU's per day taken with a large meal. It can help to lower shbg and thus allow more free T. Regardless of shbg levels, you need to improve your D level. Test it again a few months after supplementing.

Thyroid issues can increase shbg as well, but as HMB noted above your numbers look fine. Next time check those again along with FT3 and RT3. If you're carrying to much body fat and thus your estrogen is a bit elevated that can impact shbg as well.

    It's complicated.

You can't rule it out. I'm not a doctor but willing to bet the way I feel at 524 and the way you feel at 524 is probably different. Just saying.

Good advice from Kel. Get the labs, especially Free T/Bioavailable T and SHBG. Your Total T labs are fine, but they are only a blunt screening lab. Doctors put way too much emphasis on it. It's Free T that matters. Regarding thyroid labs, you might want to consider rT3. If you are over exercising and/or dieting excessively (or plain have bad nutritional habits combined with exercise), your body will think it's starving and go into hibernation mode. Lowering T and Free T (via SHBG) and converting T4 to rT3 instead of T3 are two mechanisms for the body to lower your metabolism to prepare for starvation. Millions of years of genetics have yet to catch up with modern living.
