    Should I start TRT?

    Hey all,

    28 year old male, 5'10, 205 pounds.

    Total T: 849
    Free T: 78 (46-230)
    SHBG: 56 (10-50)

I have some of the low T symptoms. Hard to gain strength and burn fat. No morning wood. Is morning wood a low t symptom even?

Anyway just wondering if I should even start TRT for good with my levels. Is there anyway I can lower my SHBG naturally to get more free T ? Or is TRT the only way for me to increase my free T?

How much testosterone do you take a week? You must have low SHBG.

Diet is ok , I don't eat junk food or anything but I do eat a lot of red meat. Activity level is great, I work out 6 days a week.

The thing is, if you take all of the non-pharma steps mentioned in what I linked, yet SHBG stays sky high, you may need to implement something like Proviron to give the SHBG something with a higher affinity to attach to, freeing up your test and E2. However, Proviron is mildly suppressive, so it might be a zero sum game unless you go on TRT along with the Proviron. It could be worth a try, but you definitely want to be willing to accept the TRT fate if it doesn’t provide acceptable benefit.

One other question: what are your E2 levels like?

What exactly are all these symptoms you are having?

Your levels are good. Your SHBG will vary throughout the day. If your symptoms are not getting strong and not burning fat, I'd look in to your training and dietary methods. And lack of morning wood is not a symptom.

Depends on what your reasoning for wanting to start TRT is. If it’s just to legitimately replace testosterone then I wouldn’t. Your levels are on the better side.

If it’s because you plan on running steroids for bodybuilding purposes and don’t want to run the roller coaster of cycling on and off, then that’s really just a decision for you to make.
