Should I take HCG?
First post, a little background. I am now 63 years old. I had been using testosterone cream for a long time; my total test levels were good but free test was low. About two years ago i switched doctors, and he switched me to test cyp by injection. Since then I have been taking 100mg test cyp twice a week and i take 1mg Arimidex on injection days. I seem to have unlimited access to test cyp, so I could throw in a "cycle" any time I wanted.
I feel fine, my total testosterone is high but my free testosterone is "upper end of normal." The only side effect is my nuts have really shrunk. My doctor has offered HCG , but I tried it a few years ago and it seemed to affect my ability to get an erection, so I stopped it.
I recently broke my foot and the doctor has put me on HGH, which comes next week.
How much HGH should I take? Should I start on HCG? If so, how much?
I am 5'11" 182 lbs and can see my abs, so maybe 13-15% body fat and lift regularly.

He prescribed you HGH because you broke your foot? I’ve never heard of anything like this before. I think I need to switch doctors. How much HGH is he preaching and for how long? 1-2 ius per day is a therapeutic dosage so I would keep it there. As for HCG I would recommend taking it for certain so long as it doesn’t cause erection issues. 1mg Anastrozole per week is a lot and it is possible that was the issue and not HCG. Why do you take the Anastrozole on the day you inject and not the day after? That part doesn’t make sense to me

Sorry I wasn't clear. He suggested HGH for the broken foot to speed healing. He gave me a prescription prior to the broken foot for HCG in case I wanted it. I don't even know what amount it is for.
With respect to the Arimidex - apparently I am very good at converting testosterone to estradiol and that amont keeps the estradiol in check - latest was 14.5pg/mL (normal range 7.6 -42.6). I take it the day of injection just to remember to do it, I guess the day after is better?
Is erection issues a common side effect of HCG, or was it just me?

Normally you would take the Anastrozole the day after you inject. When you inject your test levels will increase and that’s where the E2 conversion starts. Taking it 24 hours later hits it when the conversion is higher thus typically working better. How long did you take the HCG for when you had the issues? I’m guessing something else was going on but I obviously can’t be certain

Thanks for your advice, that makes good sense, I’ll switch it up.
I don’t recall the timing of HCG , but I think I was maybe two weeks into it when I had two different new “opportunities” where someone didn’t rise to the occasion, so to speak.
I think this time I’m in a committed relationship so less variables to test

I'm a touch older than you and I did the gel for a few years before I started doing self-prescribed hCG . I can't think of a single reason not to use it. It's cheap and it restored my nards to their 'youthful appearance,'
Doc Crisler (RIP), a former contributor to this website, recommend 350 IUs of hCG every 3-1/2 days. That's what I've done from the start and it works well enough I've not seen reason to change it.
And I would think hCG is more liable to prevent ED than to cause it.

Ok so I now see that the pharmacy that my doctor uses is out of HCG . I understand there are rules about giving advice on where to buy, because of the sponsors of this forum being in the business. But I can't find where they sell HCG? Can anyone point me there?

That sucks. A friend of mine works at a HRT clinic and apparently the pharmacy they use just got stock, so who knows what the heck is going on. All I can recommend to you is find a place that ships from the USA. I have an existing order that's been sitting for over 3 weeks overseas because of shipping delays

If my most recent buy is any indication, the coronapanic has dramatically increased the delivery time for hCG ordered from overseas sources. I usually receive it in eight to 10 days but the last one took three weeks to get here. So you might get it as promptly by waiting for your local drugstore to restock. Maybe check with the drugstores in nearby cities.
Another alternative you might look into is the 'legit' Canadian pharmacies that sell to Americans. I've never had call to use such a thing but I understand their prices are cheaper so a lot of retirees order their meds from them. Somebody like AARP (or other information brokers that cater to older folks) probably has a list of them.
