Volume loss in syringe - dosing question
Does anyone have accurate information about the volume loss or dead space using Luer Lock 1 ml syringe with a 25 gauge, 1” long needle?
I have read .07 mm loss for a 1 ml syringe on the internet. If that’s true, I probably have been under dosing.
Thoughts?

It happens. One technique is to draw an equivalent amount of air and put it between the plunger and the oil to push all the oil out.
Another technique for trt doses is insulin pins. There is nowhere near as much loss with those.

What about if you draw 0,1 water into the syringe, press the air out abd then draw the test or whatever else ontop the 0,1 water. Then basically the last thing to leave the syringe and get stuck would be the water ? Or you could use some oil or whatever. Is this viable idea?

Yes, some of your liquid remains in any syringe, more so in a luer lock but that extra liquid was not part of your measured dose so you don't need to adjust your dose to account for it. When you draw, you measured dose starts once the liquid enters the barrel after it passes the needle and connector. As an example, the first .1ml (closest to the needle) hash mark is the same size as the second. So, if you draw .1ml dose into a 3ml syringe, you have drawn more than .1ml but you will get .1ml when you inject. There will just be some liquid remaining in the needle but it doesn't cause your dose to be less than intended.

No, I can empty the vial with a little extra left in the syringe.

After you draw your dose, pull a small amount of air (~.1 -.2cc) into the syringe.
When you inject, the air will push any remaining oil out of the syringe. There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...
