    TRT- starting 'round two'

Last year I was injecting 200mg/ml every two weeks. I'm not sure if I simply wasn't on it long enough (the doctor shared an office with the sleep study guy and he kept pushing an apnea machine even though I don't have sleep apnea, so he rescinded my prescription), or if the dose was too low to have a big effect.

I now have a new doctor who has prescribed for me 300mg/ml every two weeks, so 50% more than the first scrip, plus this dose is still low enough to be covered by my insurance vs. the online guys that are out-of-pocket only. Does anyone have experience with this dosage? Should I break it up to 150mg/ml every week? Is there any reason NOT to do that? I've seen people on here and elsewhere online that it is better to do so, but then why do they prescribe it for all in one shot, once every two weeks?

Also are there any additional supplements I should be taking to maximize the benefit? Any help/input is appreciated.

You were probably recommended by members here to break up those once every two week injections into weekly or bi weekly doses. Do that with this dose, 75mg twice per week.

Doctor habits die hard, but who knows why they really recommend 1 shot every two weeks. Maybe patient compliance or who knows what.

I am confused about your "wasn't on it long enough" comment. TRT is meant to be lifelong - once you start, there is no going back (nor is there a reason to). If you need TRT now, after being on it some period of time, your body will make even less of its own T. The benefits get greater and greater the longer you are at optimized levels of TRT. You will look younger, fitter, more muscular and have more energy than your counterparts not on TRT. Its not like being on gear but it is like being 20 again (for the most part) which is good enough for me (for the most part).

As far as additional supplements - Creatine 5G per day is a no brainer. Whey protein supplementation (you don't need massive amounts of protein to build muscle. I would recommend .75g per lb of bodyweight eaten throughout the day). I use Turmeric and Resveratrol both for inflammation from workouts (works great). Other than that, eat a balanced diet, exercise, etc all the usual stuff. Booze kills T so use in moderation.

The original doctor took me off of it because he wanted me to use a sleep apnea machine (he shares an office with a sleep clinic/sleep doctor), which I tried with no success (and I don't even have apnea). He would not renew my prescription because he is of the opinion (clearly with many patients) that the apnea machine is the magic bullet for everything, including low testosterone . Then I got really busy at work and let if fall off for 4-5 months until recently when I saw a new doctor and got the new prescription (just filled yesterday).

Thanks for the other tips- I will definitely go back to creatine and work on the booze....habits die hard but I need to put in the effort here.

    Thanks!

There is def a correlation between trt/AAS and having sleep apnea and that being a dangerous combo. I'm going through that myself now. Was told I have apnea 22 years ago. I'm not convinced so having another sleep study done in the next few weeks.

But not sure why your Dr wouldn't prescribe you a refill of they found your sleep test came back negative for apnea. I think I'd find another pcp. Many main stream Dr's know very little, or unwilling to do what's needed to get mens hormones balanced. Find a hormone specialist.
