How long does it take for injections to show up on LABS ? anyone know? been searching

I've been searching.. Please don't tell me to search,,I have tried to find my answers..

The reason why I ask is I have a follow up on 4-15-11..

I have to go and get labs the week before... I don't want to take my labs if the day after the injection is the highest reading time for a lab,,,

I want to know when the best "low time" would be

heres my story

I'm 37,, have had low t for a few years, tried crappy gels and such years ago and hated them, My wife wouldnt touch me, never went back to them,, But last november I just dove with no energy, constant body aches, no strength, feeling horrible and VERY depressed..

Finally went to doctors about it in January.. and said enough is enough.. She would only give me testim,,, it sucked ,,a after day 4 i said no more I want injections after reading the positives about the results from you guys..

,,, she sent me to the specialist who is now scripting me the injections... (he said my t was low cause I was obese... (212lbs and 5 "10) ahhh no..

Endocrinologist is only giving me 100mg of test every 2 weeks (fridays), for a test reading of 126, I don't have the other levels as I wasn't given a copy., which i really don't think is enough from what I read other are using on here,, but I guess a good starting point...,

so the last thing I need is a high test lab when in week 2 its going way less and im feeling crappy...

I read it takes a full 3-4 months before "changes" really start to happen... Im in week 6 and can tell I have more energy and concentration,, Also feel stronger and actually feel like working out of "doing something" not feeling lazy..... Is there any truth to this???

oh yeah,, I've also been on a diet,, and done well .. losing 10lbs already in 2 weeks... so I want to be even lower for my next exam on 4-15,, just to rub it in his little chinese nuts.(quote the chinese guy from the movie "hangover").. (endocrinologist is chinese) lol

Can you get your labs the day before your shot or is it already scheduled. My doc tells me to get my labs a week ahead only because it takes a week to make sure he gets the results.

The simple answer is do your bw the day before or the day of but prior to your injection. And when the Dr asks for when you did your bw you say the day before my injection. Lying or trying to fool the Dr just ends up throwing your long term treatment off.

I'm not really sure why so many Drs don't explain when they want the patient to get there BW in relation to their injection. Mine is always clear with what he wants.

Or the day before your shot... what is he trying to see - your hight point or low point or ? Since he's not saying anything, wait as long as possible to get the blood drawn after your injection

Endocrinologist is only giving me 100mg of test every 2 weeks (fridays) - And you called him the 'specialist' - sounds like he has NO clue what he's doing if he's giving you 100mg every 2 weeks?, for a test reading of 126 - That should have made him realize that he's not helping you at all, I don't have the other levels as I wasn't given a copy - it's YOUR body and YOUR blood - you have a RIGHT to see your own bloodwork., which i really don't think is enough from what I read other are using on here - No it's not - may starting dosages are 100mg per week with the conservative doctors, or 200mg per 2 weeks,, but I guess a good starting point..., No - in my opinion it's a shitty starting point - it's probably just enough to shut you down completely on whatever T you made naturally - OK - I guess at least you have a Dr. that's prescribing you something, but he's not helping you at this point in my opinion

Is there any truth to this??? that's great - yes, your blood levels do change right away, but it takes a while for your body to react to it... Some guys can 'feel' it right away, some 'think' they feel it right away, and some others take longer. If your natural level was really low then you'll probably notice changes relatively soon after treatment

I think your levels are highest a day or two after a shot. I could be wrong. I always test the day before or morning of a shot just to stay in range.

I am doing them myself now, and have an open schedule on the lab,, I can go when i want,, just has to be a week before I see him... So cool.. I will take my labs and then do my shot after... I just didnt know if it took days,, hours or months to really set into your blood... I figured days since it seems like day 2 im better and day 3 i feel great...

He is from china,,, very old school.. hates drugs.... I was like ,,"great thanks doc" to my primary to send me to this quack....the guy asked me 3 separate time if I smoke marijuana... He argued with me about the test and injections instead of the goo crap for a good 20 minutes,, to try and lose weight instead,, and take vitamins and bla bla bla..... I tried to explain to him I was going to lose my job if I can't get things right... I'm a mechanic... and physically just wiped out,, no strength..... I missed 4 days of work in 2 months,, they were getting ready to fire me..

Im ok at work now,, i literally brought my script in with needles and all... all the info I had, doctors note and all, put it on his desk,, and said if you need to know my personally info to save my job,,, here you go,,, now im extremely embarrassed to hell for having to share that with you..., and totally made my boss feel like a bag of chit!

but he gave me what I needed,, and we will see what the results show next time,, I will try and post them,, I just didnt get a copy last time,,, rookie mistake I guess...

210 and 5'10 and you are obese? was he going off that freakin stupid bmi chart? do you have ANY muscle mass? what is your bf?

Yes, I think I've seen graphs where peak levels were achieved about 48 hours after injecting, then a slow steady decline in levels takes place. Half-life is about a week.

BTW half life depends on chemical like for my test cyp its 12 days.

I had thought I saw 6-8 days....maybe that was for enanthate???? If half-life for test. cyp. really is 12 days, that doesn't make my doctor ordered dosing schedule of every two weeks seem so "bad" considering.

Sounds like he should have become a nutritionist rather than a doctor. He will do less damage that way.

A ton more energy is coming back,, not tired all the time,, and my body feels great.. started working out this week,, and my muscles feel good,, not fatigued...

I looked up the various testosterone formulations today. Found a medical monograph that was quite helpful. Cypionate and Enanthanate both reach peak blood serum concentrations in 72 hours after administration and both have half-lifes of 8 days. The monograph is located here if you want to do some research...very good stuff:

thanks jeff!! great stuff!! im using the Cypionate,,, but that sounds about right ,, cause days 2-4 great, 5-7 good,, after that flat... I'm assuming i will need to do it every week,, but i figured he just wanted to start somewhere... I have the meds at home now,, and am tempted to take a shot every week anyways.. but i just don't want to mess up my blood testes either.. like i've said many times above,, my doc is a dick,, lol:aajack:
