Latest Blood Work results after taking an OTC Anti Aromatase.

Just wondering if anyone who is on 2x, or 3x per week small SubQ injections of testosterone in small dosages has ever given themselves a "booster" shot of say the total amount they'd use in one week, all in one shot just to give themselves a little "booster" shot so that they have that feeling of "energy" that you got when you first went on TRT, and the initial testosterone injection almost gave you a "high"?

I've been on 3x per week SubQ injections for nearly 2 months @ 40mg per shot, and my test levels are around 630 ng/dl, which is great, considering they started at 40.3!! But I don't feel that surge, or energy, or "oomph" that I did when I had my very first injection of 150mg. So I was thinking about perhaps doing a one time booster shot of 120mg, then take a week "off" before going back on my usual 3x per week routine of 40mg per.

    What are your thoughts?

Dont fix what isn't broken!! I pin EOD 50 mgs with no AI, bloodwork will be soon and I fully expect to have an e2 issue....what are your other levels, shbg, e2 free test? Post up complete bloodwork and we may see why you don't feel top notch at the moment.

Considering the amount of overlap of half life with eod day injections, you don't need a booster, stable levels are your friend.

Thanks JD. I'll stay on my usual protocol.

Our Gov't medical plan won't pay for any BW besides Total Testosterone , and our labs only do basic Estradiol tests, so my last BW result was:

    Total Testosterone: 23.2 nmol/L from a range of 8.4 - 28.7 nmol/L. Converted: Total Test: 668.5 ng/dl from a range of 242 - 827 ng/dl.

I last tested my Estradiol about a month ago, and the result was 184 pmol/L from a range of < 156. I've been taking an OTC anti aromatase, which seems to have helped my sore nipple issue, and will be getting another Estradiol test in a couple of weeks. I'm also going to bite the bullet and pay for a bioavailable testosterone test along with SHBG, albumin etc.

I just wish I still wasn't always so tired, and lethargic all the time.

I think most guys feel that energy when starting due to increased dopamine level's. If you are tired then maybe check your Thyroid.

I had my thyroid (TSH) checked about 3 weeks ago. The result was: TSH : 1.6 mU/L from a range of 0.38 - 5.5 mU/L.

Also, The free T4 order was cancelled. The
    BCMA/MSP Protocol recommends no further
testing. However, a specimen will be
    stored seven days.

You can always go to a private lab for bloodwork. I did and im really glad. It revealed alot.

I don't think we have private labs here in Canada. I could go to one in the U.S. but I just can't afford it. But if it comes down to it, I just might have to.

I never knew things had to be so precise in order to "feel" the benefits from TRT. According to all the positive reports I read, everyone was like, "Just do it, man! You'll feel as if you're 25 again, and full of piss, and vinegar!" etc etc. I'M STILL WAITING FOR THAT FEELING TO HAPPEN, and I've been on TRT since February! I ain't gettin' any younger! I want to feel that "second youth" NOW!! LOL

it takes weeks to feel the effects of higher doses, it doesn't work like energy drinks.

Depending on where you are at, it would prolly cost more for the gas than the labs.

What levels are your free test? If they are at the top of range you should be feeling fine. If you want more of a kick maybe switch back to IM injections 150mg 1x per week and use some HCG as well.

My Dr. won't prescribe HCG as of yet...he wants to deal with one thing at a time (bring my T levels up to a good level). When I was on IM injections, I felt a "kick" after my very first injection, but after that, the next 3 IM injections of 150mg brought nothing in the way of an energy boost.

As far as Free test levels go, my Dr. ordered a bioavailable testosterone level BW, but as I've stated, our Gov't medical plan won't pay for it, which is why I might have to dig deep, and pay for it myself, as much as I can't afford to do so.

Read the stickies and you'll find a post in there about how long it takes to feel certain effects of TRT.....I personally felt some sort of difference within a couple weeks, I was taking 200mgs a week. But to be honest it can take months to feel some of the benefits, get that e2 checked, sensetivity assay, free test and SHGB even if you have to bribe your doctor to do it. High e2 will make you feel not so good, so will low e2 so it's very important to know.

I have had bio available checked and did not pay for it.
Why would your dr tell you that?

Things are different here in Canada. Our medical plan will only pay for the bioavailable test if total testosterone levels are between 4 - 10 nmol/L.

I think my Dr. wants to work on one thing at a time.

I read the stickies, and realize that it takes months to feel the full effects of TRT, but I was just going according to what others have said, on how they felt almost an immediate "change".

Our labs here in Canada don't offer the sensitive assay test for E2. They claim it's only for "research".

Thanks everyone for all your help, and suggestions.

Which province are you in? Maybe it's different in each province. I'm in B.C. I'm just going according to what they tell me.
As I said, I'm going for more BW next week or so, so I might bite the bullet and pay for the tests myself...even though I can't afford it.

I might have to do that. Although my TRT endo, is also my diabetes Dr. and I wouldn't want to piss him off, and have him sabotage my diabetes treatment. Also, here we have to get a referral from our family Dr. (G.P.) in order to see a specialist. Also, it's the medical plan system that has the say in which tests, or bloodwork they'll pay for, or even what they'll do.

They don't even allow the sensitive assay for Males Estradiol test here in Canada. (At least not in B.C.) My endo can't even legally prescribe arimidex /anastrozole as an anti aromatase without risking losing his license. I know it's stupid, it's a KNOWN FACT that "supplementing" with testosterone will also cause an increase in estrogen levels, so prescribing an anti aromatase would seem like a LOGICAL, "no brainer" next step, or solution, aid, whatever you want to call it, yet they aren't allowed to prescribe one. So yeah, the testosterone levels go up nicely, but DUHHHH so do the Estrogen levels rise to unhealthy levels!!

I'm getting so frustrated by all the friggin' tests, and having to have 8,000 different things at just the precise level so that the TRT will work etc! At least that's how it seems! How's my free test? How's my SHBG?, How's my E2 level? How's my total test? How's my thyroid? How's my dopamine level? How's my albumin? How's my ADT? My APT? My STP? My AVG? My DVD?, My XYZ? Do I inject when there's a full moon? Does a full moon cause my beard to grow deeper? etc etc etc

If I take a larger shot, I feel the kick in about 18 hours, every time. I may be really sensitive to it - but it's like 50 energy drinks.

I think Bass meant it takes weeks of smaller SubQ injections to feel the same effects of a higher dose/larger injection. Yeah I felt incredible after my initial 150mg injection. About half as "good" after my 2nd one, and virtually nothing after my 3rd injection of 100mg.

Haven't felt any "buzz" from any of my small SubQ injections, but my total test levels are up to an okay level. I just want to feel the "surge" or at least have the energy to workout, instead of wanting to sleep all the freakin' time! Maybe my estradiol level is still too high. I'm just pissed off that it seems that EVERY thing has to be just perfect for ME to feel any GOOD effects from the testosterone ! I ain't getting any younger! I have patience, but I want to know that it's at least helping, and things are going in the right direction...more than just what my BW says about my total testosterone level.

Before I started TRT my total test level was 40.3 ng/dl. Last week it was 668.5 ng/dl. Yet I basically feel exactly the same! WTF is going on?!!

Hey killergoalie how far are you from the US border? Is it too far to go to get bw done by a private lab and just bypass the Canadian system? If you had some numbers to put up here I know you'd get some great help.

hey freshmaker, as hard as it is you need bloodwork done- if your doc wont help, try another, find out all the symptoms of low test and fake it. try getting the free test- its very important as its the only test that actually does anything in your body! learn what the difference is between total test and free test, mke your point to the doc when he is writing out your bloodwork request- if its not on the request form or he refuses- dont get it done, try another doc. its your health, dont take no for an answer.

Just received my latest BW results. Requested a Bioavailable testosterone test, but only received the results for total testosterone for the reasons explained above.

Inexplicably, my total testosterone has gone down severely in the last 9 days!!

    Nine days ago my total testosterone level was: 23.2 nmol/L from a range of 8.4 - 28.7 nmol/L. Or 668.5 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl.

    However today, my total testosterone level was: 16.8 nmol/L from a range of 8.4 - 28.7 nmol/L. Or 484.1 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl.

What would/could cause it to drop that much in nine days?

I haven't changed my injection protocol, or amounts in over 6 weeks.

I'd appreciate any help, or suggestions you can give please.

I think I may have found the reason(s) why it is so low. I just read that some possible reasons for low testosterone levels are stress, depression, head trauma, "starvation", etc, and during the past 4 or 5 days, I've experienced various stages of all of these, so that's probably the reason for my low testosterone level reading. I never realized that it could drop so severely though!

It really is a very touchy, or sensitive issue.

But that's for people who aren't on TRT. Since you are on TRT and your dose hasn't changed, these factors should not have lowered your T level.

It might suck getting all the test but you have to be balanced to feel good. Seriously you are taking a over the counter AI w/ an E2 that is out of range. To me it doesn't sound like you have a doctor that knows what he's doing or your country sucks for TRT.

Tell me about it. I may have to give in, and get some liquidex from a local phamaceutical co. (My Dr. says he could lose his license if he prescribes arimidex ). I decided to try the OTC AI because I didn't want to add another prescription drug to my already overwhelming arsenal. But like I said, I may have to bite the bullet and go for the liquidex.

As far as the bloodwork goes, first off, I don't know if my Dr. will give me a requisition for all the tests that are "required". Our Medical labs here in B.C. don't even offer all the tests, such as the sensitive assay for males Estradiol test.

I think I'm going to close my eyes, and pay for some tests in the next few weeks...E2, Bioavailable test, SHBG, Albumin, as well as my A1c for my type 2 diabetes. I can't afford it, but hopefully it can provide some answers.

But I see my Dr. next month, so he'll see that I'm having some issues, and hopefully make some changes.

does anyone know if these sub q shots are faster or slower releasing than IM. Even between IM a glute and quad are slightly different, and a shoulder shot takes about half as long to release as a glute. I would assume injecting in the fat would be significantly different than IM but not sure in what direction, faster or slower etc.

Okay, latest update on Blood Work!

Just finished the bottle of the OTC anti aromatase, "Anti-A". Conclusion: MASSIVE FAILURE!! I chalk it up to live and learn!

I began taking it (2 pills per day as per instructions) on April 26th.

    My Total Testosterone level at the time was 622.4 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl. My E2 level was 50.1 from a range of < 42.5.

    On May 8, my Total Testosterone level reached it's highest level of 668.5 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl.

    On May 17 my Total Testosterone level fell to 484.1 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl.

Got my latest Blood Work yesterday, May 25th.

    Total Testosterone: 452.4 ng/dl from a range of 241 - 827 ng/dl.

    Estradiol (E2): 79 from a range of < 42.5!!

So basically my Total testosterone fell - 32% from it's highest level, while my E2 rose 58% while taking the SUPPOSED OTC Anti Aromatase!!

My diet even got better during this time.

Yes it's my own damn fault for stupidly thinking an OTC "scientifically proven" Anti Aromatase would actually work!
