    AI question and recent bloodwork

I just got a call from Dr. to discuss my most recent bloodwork. I am on 100 mg EW, and after my 5th week my levels went from 380 to 870 (a range up to 1100). She was happy with that and did not want to increase the dose.

My Estrogen was slightly elevated at 160, which she said should be below 130. The BW did not test Estradol. She was not worried about the level and did not want to put me on Estrogen blocker. She said she didn't think it was high enough to warrant another lifetime treatment and possible side effects. After I expressed concern, she said she would put me on one if I wanted, though she again said she didn't think it was necessary.

Is there any reason I should not get a prescription for it? Any possible side effects? If it matters, I plan to do a blast once everything is stabilized and I have 6 months between BW, so I'm thinking it would be useful to have it on hand.

absolutely you need it, i respect her concern about putting you on another drug but in this case its needed. she seems to have done the wrong e2 test, you need the male sensitive assay to be sure where your e2 is. just tell her you;re getting sensitive and itchy nipples and feel bloated, she'll prescribe it in a heart beat. my advice is to do the correct e2 test and get on AI's. your test levels will go even higher once you lower your e2. and once you experience testicular shrinkage then talk to her about hCG . post your entire blood work with ranges so we can see what else is going on.

Thanks. My next scheduled BW is not until 3 months from now. Should I start now and then get my E2 tested then, or should I get my E2 tested before I started (if my total Estrogen levels are high is it pretty safe to assume my E2 levels are high too)?

I asked her about HCG at my last appointment, and she asked whether I was planning on having kids soon. I said No, and she said that because of possible liver damage she did not want to put me on HCG until that became a concern.

I'd get the estradiol sensitive/ultrasensitive test before I did anything UNLESS you are getting sides like extreme bloating or gyno.

As far as I know a generic estrogen test is used by NO experts in male hrt.

what HRT said! also estrogen is E2. hCG has no effect on liver as far as i know. testicular atrophy is just as bad as liver damage, and we know testicular atrophy is inevitable without hCG.

What the above guys advised. Also remember she is female and may like sensitive nipples, we don't. I'd also like to point out the obvious that she does not have testicals. Just sayin....

ps: If you use labcorp for your E2 Sensitive Assay the codes you need are: 140244. CPT Code 82670.

And if you use private md labs dot com for your first E2 test you can get it pretty cheap wtihout an additional office visit in the meantime.

I never heard of HCG and liver damage. Where does she get her info? Also do you feel any different since starting TRT?
