Lab work. Doc prescribing T3

Got my blood work back today. Didn't get all tests i wanted due to cost. New health insurance kicking in next month and doc ordered retests in 6 weeks. I had brain fog, low libido,memory issuesand other low t symptoms. Eyebrows were thinning so doc thought about thyroid. My total test was 612. My T3 is low and I have been put on Cytomel at 25 mcg day to start.

Next tests will have:

Freee and total test
Thyroid antibodies and RT3
Estradiol,ultra sensitive
IGF-1
HGH
SHBG
DHT
plus ones on this test

I can have her add more so please make any suggestions about that and what you think about my results.

No one? Would this amount of T3 lead to any noticable fat loss or, more importantly,muscle loss?

25mcg is about what you "should" produce naturally so this amount will not cause any muscle loss and will not cause your body temp to increase enough for any fat loss effects.

TSH 2.59 [0.2-1.2mg/dL]
T4, Free 1.2 [0.8-1.8ng/dL]
T3, Total 65 [76-181ng/dL]

The biggest concern of the visit was my 16lb weight loss from last friday to today. Pretty sure their last weigh was wrong as I haven't been 185 since December.

You. Should weigh yourself. Clothing can affect that and no one strips down at the docs office for weigh in.

I weigh myself every morning at the same time. Today's weight was right. The 185 was off. I did cardio the night before the 185 and ate and drank a lot of water before the 185 weigh in. I haven't eaten or drank anything before my visit today. I've been hovering around 170 for awhile. I'm curious about my E2 levels in 6 weeks. I'll wager they are high.

Your T3 was definitely low. You probably are not getting all the thyroid your body needs.

I'd go with the doc and see how it plays out. Continue to monitor both your t3 and t4... not just TSH though.

Thyroid is important to everything in the body. Making this better would almost assuredly help mental and physical function. It's important to couple this with a nutritious diet though. Hormones are just one piece of the puzzle. I would wonder what your iron and b vitamins look like...
