    Wink urology appt on friday!

so i have a urology appt on friday. I was looking at their site and it says they treat low testosterone . Hopefully the guy is openminded. I plan on bringing my old blood work from whe n iwas 19 where my level was 277.
Any advice? What should I expect? I need updated blood work, so i can decide what to do with myself, and see if my test is really low enough where i would want to go on trt. If it's above 500 i might jsut wait until im 30. I'd like thyroid/full hormonal panel done do you think he'd do that? I also need a pituitary mri, should i ask him, or jsut wait until my endo appt in the beginning of may?

also, they had an appt available a week after icalled, does that mean he is a bad doctor..usually i have to wait months...

and since their site said they treat low t they should be open minded right?

from what i read you post it makes me think of a lawyer being an ambulance chaser

might not be in your BEST interest..i believe most push high priced gels to middle aged men with low T...

i followed this route...best bet is to be your own researcher /educator first and foremost...

present your symptoms to your doctor and having the prior bloodwork is good yes and yes he will want to run all those things you mentioned as well

keep with this forum as well for advice many well educated/caring guys to offer you advice/suggestions

    best of luck with it

not to sound rude here, but im confused on what you're trying to say. I'm not trying to trick anybody into giving me trt if that is what you mean with the lawyer comment. I just want the proper bloodwork, so that i can make a decision on what I want to do..because like many educated members here, I have educated myself, and know what good t levels are, and also how ishould be feeling(while some docs don't). I also have a history of a 2mm pit adenoma that has come and gone so i want that mri before starting anything. I thought the urologist would say no though, and only the endo would order it.
I am not interested in gels, patches, or pellets. If I go on trt, im doing injections, with 750 iu hcg per week.

no ...not what i meant at all

i meant the way your saying they were advertising/alluring patients....like lawyers do with accidents..

sounds like your educated and will know all the right questions to ask and are in charge of your health...much more that a lot of patients that go to their doctors and just wait for the doc to do all the talking..

i never heard that only an endo could order an mri...it was an endo that ordered mine but i also saw a uro...either way you have an appt with a uro already...

u sound like your plenty prepared...

only thing i would add is maybe bring in notes so you wont forget all the questions you may have and all your symptoms

    good luck

oh alright, sorry i got the wrong message lol. I think i may be protraying them wrongly however. This isnt an anti aging clinic, they are licensed urologists that deal with all issues. The guy im seeing has 9 years experience(so he;s pretty fresh which i prefer), and graduated from nyu..and is a laproscopic/robotics surgeon. The reason I mentioned that they advertise doing low t therapy, is because a lot of dr's think t is the plague..and kel advised me to ask the dr's if they have experience in this area

Here's their site in case you are curious..im seeing dr troy(first name)

Central Jersey Urology Associates, LLC - Conditions we treat

as for the mri thing. I agree that any physician CAN order the mri, but some primary care drs for instance are pricks when it comes to ordering mri's, and usually endos/neurologists are the only ones who will. I used to have a good primary though...although she eventually gave up on me because the specialists would't treat me..but that was years ago.

    no problem

sound like you are plenty prepared

hopefully the doc will appreciate your research and knowledge and not be the ego type that look down on the patients (God like complex)
