    Do I need to see a TRT/Specialist????

    Fellas-

Need some help here with recommendations on a TRT doctor. I believe that I may have low testosterone . Long story short, I had gotten some blood work done a while back to help with left breast gyno I've had since I was 14 that my insurance company refuses to cover to operate on (that's a whole other story for later...). Well I got my results back and the doctors claims I'm within "normal" range. However, I don't feel like I am due to being 29 year old and an avid fitness nut! I run, eat healthy (and I mean like healthy, not like I eat good for 1-3 days and then splurge), workout at the gym 3-4 times a week and so on. Here is what I got:

    Tot Test: 407
    Free Test: 7.33
    DHEA-S Serum: 221
    TSH: 1.91
    FSH: 3.99
    Lutein. Hormone: 1.72
    Estradiol: 20

    Just for shits and giggles:
    Triglycerides: 38
    Cholesterol: 134
    HDL: 73
    LDL: 54

Any feedback on these results? My buddy, who is like 57, has higher test levels than me! WTF?? Do you think that this gyno could have anything to do with this, or is it two separate things going on here?
I live around the Toledo/Findlay area so anywhere close to there would be great!

Any help would be appreciated and thank you in advance?

    Did you check prolactin?

Also would be helpful to have a testicle exam to rule out problems down there.

By the exam you mean a physical exam correct? If so, that was done.

I'm a bit surprised that they didn't test for prolactin as well. They tested for BHCG, Tumor MRKR (whatever that means) and that was 0.6...

Your free T is poor but your total levels score in the normal range, I doubt you will find any doc besides TRT clinic willing to help you,

but with those levels being already low-ish at your age I predict you will soon fall below range; I can be wrong though.

So what would be the difference between a TRT clinic vs a physician? Is there any? Is one covered by insurance per se and the other is not?

I'm mostly looking at possibly going to a physician who is reputable around my area that can order me up a proper blood panel to figure this stuff out. Its annoying how many hoops you have to jump through to get an answer nowadays...

Your LH value appears low to me.

A regular doc will be more stringent in doling out TRT at your level but if you focus on your symtoms and not just numbers you may be successful. Clinics on the other hand are there to make money from you. They tend to find a way to write you what you want, but you're going to pay for it.

Thanks Kelkel for clearing that up. I guess I can ride this thing out or take matters into my own hands

Remember what BB said as well re checking Prolactin as it can inhibit LH and thus testosterone .

I've been doing Vit D regularly. In the Spring/Summer, I run outside twice a day too so I supplement a little less with Vit D those days. But currently do 3,000-5,000iu up to 2x/day. I think that's about where I want to be. I also supplement with Zinc as well on top of eating spinach and what not. I have a diet analysis program I may or may not of taken from my college ($1200 program lol) so I run that every time I do diets for myself or others to make sure I'm not deficient on any vitamins or minerals. Micro nutrients are just as important as macros!

You guys think I should go to a different physician and ask to run a full blood panel or are there any specific blood work I should ask for that will cover my bases?

So here is another question for you hormone gurus: should I be worried about low prolactin levels or high prolactin levels in my case? Would prolactin levels have anything to do with my one sided gyno, or is that more of a circumstantial thing?
