    It was all great until...

I've been on TRT for a few months now (200mg every 8 days). At first everything was great. All symptoms improved, mood was better, libido was back to normal, I was making gains in the gym...everything was perfect. Then, about the start of month 4 I started getting some CRAZY mood swings. I'm not a moody or emotional guy, but as an example there were issues from 25 years ago that were coming up and really pissing me off. There's no reason that should be happening. That first episode lasted about a week, then everything kind of calmed down. Now at the start of month 5 I've had another three days of crazy moodiness.

I take a 100mg shot every 4 days. I went to the doc today and she said that last month when she checked (four days after my last shot), my testosterone was 800 and my estrogen level was in the "high end of normal" at 58. I have no idea which method or index she uses, but that's the number. So I told her I was absolutely not myself recently and we decided to try Anastrazole.

I'm thinking I'll give the anastrozole a week or two to work, and if it doesn't, maybe cut back to 100mg a week and see if that fixes it. How long should it take for Anastrazole to make a meaningful reduction in my estrogen level? Any thoughts?

It'll lower Estrogen almost instantly. And if it's estrogen causing the mood, you'll feel better in 24 hours

your doctor is prescribing you a pill because she has no clue what else to do or what the problem would be. its likely not a normal level of estrogen causing the issue imo .

IF your cholesterol was in the normal range (high but normal) do you really think a doc should be prescribing you statins ? probably not.

but being your symptoms are all 'mental' , and there is nothing wrong physically or can be seen on blood work, docs will just throw prescription pills at the problem (perhaps a placebo effect may make you feel better). And if you do feel better taking that pill, guess what, big pharma has you thinking you need that pill for life and you'll be paying for it for a long time (they just got a customer for life).

sorry no real advice given by me here. just an observation on my part

Keep in mind that if 4 months ago you had low T levels, like say 100s ng/dl, and your now in the 800s ,, just the increase in the androgen levels alone are going to cause mood and personality changes. especially if you have never been at those levels, or at least not been there since your early 20s.

It’s the estrogen man, think about it. It’s the most explosive chemical known to science. I mean shit, loook how easy it is for a women to explode over nothing

I bet it's your estrogen level. When I let my estrogen level go up too much I get moody and can get pissed off a lot more easier. Just make sure she knows what's she's doing and doesn't give you too much AI a week. If you think high estrogen is bad you don't want to experience low estrogen.

I've recently switched to smaller daily doses of Test C (22mg). So I stopped taking the AI to see if I need it. I think I do though, probably because I still take HCG (350iu's 3x's a week) which is known to spike estrogen levels. I just had labs done to confirm if I should go back on the AI, waiting to get them back. My guess is the results will show I'm high cause I'm definitely moody which I'm normally not.

Was the lab draw done just prior to s scheduled injection (the normal procedure)? If so, you may want to have your SHBG levels checked too, they may be low. With normal SHBG, 100mg E4D should produce a much higher T level.

Regarding E, without knowing the method or the normal ranges, it's difficult to comment on how high that number actually is. Keep in mind that with borderline high E levels, it's difficult to dose anastrozole and not crash E, which can make matters even worse. If you go down that road, I suggest you look into the "Vodka/Eyedropper Method" I posted on in another string.
