Its different from person to person... Fast for 8 hours or so and check it in the morning... thats your baseline. Then when your on slin, basically if it goes lower than that your hypo. But some say that they are fine in the 60s... I am not. Again it varies from person to person.
My base is 72, I felt funny checked it and it was 65 I knew I was hypo... check out my thread on it...
If you have a BG meter, its cake to monitor your levels.

I have a BG meter (just got it) and it reads 6.9
would that be the same as 69?
also, can you point me in the right direction,
I am looking for info on how to properly run slin.
any good beginner articles around? tried to search
but came up with nil. thanks sparkel

It all depends on how active you are, your diet and what time of the day. However everyone is different. Your BG reading could be 60, and mine could be 80, but we could both be feeling the same. So what you have to do is, check your BG levels and see how you feel on certain levels. Once you know how you feel on certain levels, next time you check your BG, you will be able to tell how far away you are from hypo or hyper and know around what level your body needs the nutrients to keep out of hypo. I use my BG monitor as a guideline.

Hey bro, 6.9 is not the same as 69. Its just a different type of measurement. BG can be measured in mg/dL or mmol\L. The reading monitor you have shows readings in mmol\L, and 6.9mmol\L is not low at all. I belive 6.99 (6.9) mmol\L is around 124 - 125mg/dL. Hope that helped.
