It stands for Insulinlike Growth Factor. It is a biproduct of Growth Hormone. Someone else will know better I am sure, but it is considered and indirect effect of growth hormone in that it is released in the body as a result of growth hormone. I think guys in the 80's used it a lot and it caused some funny problems in high doses...I think I read that it is responsible for a lot of the dissented abdomins of a lot of pros, but I may be wrong about this.
