GH better IM - study

Imitation of normal plasma growth hormone profile by subcutaneous administration of human growth hormone to growth hormone deficient children.

The time course of plasma growth hormone (hGH) levels following sc and im injection of hGH was studied in 12 children with growth hormone deficiency who had received long-term treatment with im injections of highly purified hGH. Also the spontaneous diurnal GH levels in 8 normal children of comparable age were recorded. Blood samples were obtained during 24 h after im and sc injections of 4 IU/m2 hGH and analysed for immunoreactive hGH. While a median peak value of 160 ng/ml (range 135 to 475 ng/ml) was obtained 2 h after im injection, sc injection resulted in a more sustained elevation reaching 41 ng/ml (range 32 to 51 ng/ml) at 6 h subsiding slowly with a median concentration of 15 ng/ml (range 5-24 ng/ml) persisting after 14 h.

Wouldn't it be better to take GH IM if it results in much higher levels of GH? From what I have read, during puberty/adolesence girls tend to have a more sustained release of GH naturally than boys, but boys have much larger peaks which explains in part why they grow more ...
And also, if levels peak 2hrs after administration wouldn't it make sense to take it IM 2hrs before bed ... that way when you fall asleep levels will be at there highest and then after 4hrs (which is said to be the time natural gh pulses return to normal after exogenous administration) during your second half of sleep you would be getting the benefits of your own GH?

Just a thought.

what about localized fat loss, sub q is easier and im sure people are perscribed to inject sub for a reason,,good read though

There are pro's and con's on both. Also ones age has alot to do with it as far as timing. Gh only circulates in the blood for a few minutes before it passes the liver for conversion. There is a feedback loop so the brain knows there is IGF present so gh pulses can be affected.

Agreed, Pro's now sleep with Iv's sick right?

I always shoot IM.Had great success with many 0,5IU shots in a 3hour rhythm.
But it´s to stressy.

High gh-peak=high somatomedine-peak.many gh-peaks....

Don't know about that, but IV will give you a higher gh level if that's what you're looking for, it's short lived though

added risk of serious infection via IV...never would think of it myself

stick to your chin....kidding..since a subq injection takes time to release verus that of IV-but all you are doing is just helping to increase the igf pulses in the long run no?

im is good because the gh is definately absorbed. subq theres a risk youll be going into fat which has less bloodflow so less absorption. if your lean then subq is good. not sure if i thought this up or saw it on another board.

But perhaps if you're lean you don't need the localised fat-loss and therefore would benefit more from IM?
And also some how-to injection sites suggest that lean people shouldn't inject sub-q into the stomach area ... duno what others think about this though.

outer calf shots, top of your forarms, around yiour ribs. those are the best areas for max absorbption id guess.

also these areas arent too painful
