intramuscular or subcutaneous
Just wandering if Igf-1 is coinsidered intramuscular or subcutaneous? I was told by a dr freind not to inject into anything other then the delts, quads, glutes is its intramuscular , and if its subcutaneous I can do the bis tris and calves, not sure exactly what to do with this info

You can either use the Sub-Q or the IM method. Most people inject IM when using IGF. If you are doing IM then shoot around areas where there is least fat and very think skin. This way you know the needle will be in the muscle and not in the fat/skin. Bicep, tricep are good areas. If you do Sub-Q then shoot it around the belly area.

Is either better? I did not know that IGF-1 could be used sub-q. Shooting IM with an insulin syringe makes me paranoid because you can thread a vein so easily. Sub-q avoids that issue. I aspirate and am pretty vascular, but still don't like IM with such a small pin

Znak,
In terms of effectiveness, IM would be better because IM admin has a higher absorption rate when compared to Sub-Q. But as I said in my other post, IGF can be taken Sub-Q.
The chances of doing any kind of serious damage when shooting IM with a insulin pin are slim because you are not going deep intramascular (because the needle is so short). So the only thing you would have to avoid when shooting IM is the veins that appear on the surface right under the skin. If you dodge them, then you're more than likely to be ok after that. When I shoot IM in my bicep, I have my arm out, flex it and see where all the veins are. Then I relax it and inject in the area that veins don't run along. Quite easy once you've done it a few times.

as gear said absorption rate is higher when takn IM and when taken pwo you will benefit faster of the insulin like properties by shutling nutrients in the muscle and aid in recovery.

I'll say it again, I love this site.
Thanks Gear and Rodge.
