    slin questions

hey bros i need some feedback on a few questions:

why must whey and simple carbs be separated post-slin?

what if i have waxy maize instead of dextrose, which will more efficiently suck up the whey with it through the intestines?in that case can i take whey +carbs together?

do you bring your slin to the gym in a cooler pack or just go straight home?

whats the longest time one can wait after slin injection to have pwo nutrition?

how much more protein do i need post-slin than my other meals (say i have 30protein per meal, how much should i take pwo and ppwo assuming i injected slin?)

    thanks man

why must whey and simple carbs be separated post-slin?

It really isn't a matter of "must". I will typically separate the two for a couple of reasons. Number one is I am a real OCD type when it comes to attention to small things (even those that don't matter THAT much), and the timing of what I lay out on my guides will get the nutrients where they need to go at precisely the right time.

The other consideration (for me at least) is just the volume of what am trying to drink in a short period of time. I prefer slamming down some dextrose/creatine/glutamine and then letting my gut deal with that for several minutes before chasing it with 90 grams of whey.

Other than that, I will say that it is certainly alright to take your simple carbs and protein together if that works better for you ... it will get the job done just fine.

do you bring your slin to the gym in a cooler pack or just go straight home?

I usually pack it with me in one of the insulin travel packs that you can find (small, and usually even have a small cooling pack that slip in them). I will go into the restroom just the second I drop the last weight, take my injection and slam down my dextrose/glutamine/creatine. The thought behind this is pretty simple. The whole point of using insulin in the first place is to "force feed" our muscles and restore glycogen levels. We want to pull out of the state our muscles are in immediately after a workout and get the healing and growth processes started as soon as possible. That is really our only purpose for the addition of insulin ... so in my book we want to capture the most benefit we can from it.

whats the longest time one can wait after slin injection to have pwo nutrition?

Here is what I put in my guides ... I certainly wouldn't flirt with pushing the times around from this ... doing so is asking for trouble.
    • Injection + 5 minutes – drink shake with 10g glutamine / 10g creatine / 55g dextrose (7 -10 grams per IU of Insulin)
    • Injection + 15 minutes – drink shake with 60 - 80g of whey isolate protein in water
    • Injection + 60 – 75 minutes – eat a protein / carb meal with 40-50g of protein, 40-50g of carbs, NO FATS (you may wish to add another whey isolate protein drink with this meal)

how much more protein do i need post-slin than my other meals (say i have 30protein per meal, how much should i take pwo and ppwo assuming i injected slin?)

Since we are force-feeding our muscles and are using a hormone specifically designed to help us with same, I would suggest that you increase the protein from your norm. I personally use 90 grams pwo and another 40 of solid and another 30 or so in the form of a whey drink for ppwo. While I wouldn't force the issue on that being a magic amount, I would certainly say no less than 60 grams pwo. We are wanting to take advantage of the nutrient shuttling that supraphsiologic levels of insulin are providing. For the PPWO meal, I would also suggest ~40 grams of solid proteins ... and possibly a small amount of whey.
