if you can prove you have AGHD [Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency] or Hypopituitarism, an option is to be prescribed GH.
From an insurance standpoint, I wouldn't recommend it. Although your medical records are confidential, if your coverage ever lapses for any reason, you are subject to medical underwriting when applying for a new policy.Originally Posted by Hellmask
What this means is that if you have had any time between when your last coverage ended and your new policy began, they can request your medical records to browse through your drug usages, diagnoses, etc. Taking HGH is a very expensive prescription drug used to treat an even more catastrophic condition, which will undoubtebly get you a big rejection notice from the carrier and potentially leave you without coverage until Medicare age.
Even then, I would put a good amount of money on the drug being non-formulary and requiring a huge out-of-pocket expense, unless you're on a very high-powered HMO that just happens to cover experimental drugs (good luck finding that plan or paying the premium for that matter).
The legal way just isn't the best for HGH, unfortunately.
