Insulin Poll : Do you use blood glucose meter or go by feeling
Insulin Poll : Do you use blood glucose meter or go by feeling
In the beginning I always used my meter but once I got the feel of it I stopped using it. I still keep it with me though.
What does it feel like?Is it a dizzy, hungry feeling, tired or all three?
The feeling of any of these plus more can mean your going hypo. My analogy is would you rather land a plane in the fog with radar or by feel. I always use the meter, matter of fact i may over use it if there is such a thing, but I like to know what the levels are at different intervals.Quote:

I don't advise this, but I don't use a BG monitor. I go by how I feel.

I go by feeling...i don't advise it either but the symptom are so obvious for me it's ridiculous
when i first started i used a bg meter now i just go on how i feel but there's always one close by if ever i need it
I have one but i now just go by feeling. If diet is always on point (i.e no big changes) and inj protocol stays the same then you should be able to find your level and never have problems. In my exp it is disoranised ppl who are careless with Insulin use that run into problems.
Hypo to me feels like a cold sweat and light headedness then a real big urge to sleep. The last hypo i had was when i combined slin with igf during DNP (which is supposed to help prevent hypos). It didnt and i changed my normal PWO routine when i went into the supermarket after gym to grab some supplies. Started feeling odd and ate some dex tabs str8 off the shelf. I always carry dex in my car, day bag, house, work place.... cant be too careful man.
