I I have 1mg of a powder, and mix in 1ml of bw, that gives me 1000mcg correct? So with a 1ml slin pin, the 10 mark is 10mcg?
And on a 1ml slin pin, does each tick mark equal 1i.u.?

Yes, in fact, 1,000 divided by ten is a hundred.
But better to ask than guess... with insulin, the mistake could kill you.

Umm, could you pm me your work address?
Thanks, and I really did mean 100mcg, it just came out wrong. And this was for my mgf dosing not slin.
So is an IU the same thing as a mcg? I'm going to be starting slin sometime in the near future, I have a 10ml bottle of Humalog and to take 10IU would be the tick mark #10 on the 1ml slin pin correct?

an IU could be anything bro....for example, if you had used 2mL of BW for that same 1mg of mgf...then 10iu on a slin pin would only be 50mcg as opposed to 100mcgOriginally Posted by majorpecs
so in short, no 1iu does not equal 1mcg

Right I understand that, so on a 10ml bottle of Humalog a proper dose would be 10iu, correct?Originally Posted by plzr8
