    Is this bad?

I took a 10IU shot of insulin today immediately after my workout. I decided I was going to not drink my shake until I started feeling hypo. It's about 30 minutes later and I haven't felt anything. The insulin I took was humalog.

Did you take the shot IM or sub Q? Some people are more sensetive to insulin ...eveyone reacts differently. I feel hypo symptoms like 5 min after a 7 iu shot IM shot. I'm sure its better to drink your shake within 5 or ten min of the shot regardless of feeling hypo or not. That is the prime window for nutrient shuttleing....

I did it IM in my bicep. I did go ahead and drink my shake after 30 minutes, I was just wondering if I should be worried about being insulin resistant. I've never done slin before, but I've always struggled with gaining bf and wondered if that had something to do with it.

With out testing your blood you have no idea where you are. Your blood glucose could have been towards the high range when you did the shot so you might have not gone hypo. Also symptoms aren't a good way of telling if your hypo. At what blood glucose level you feel hypo at can change. I used to only get symptoms at 40. Which is pretty low now i can start to feel them at 70. With out checking your blood glucose its all a guess on your part

One night I took my slin shot thinking I had milk in the fridge. It turned out to be half and half so I called the wife and asked her to pick up milk. So instead of coming straight home she makes a couple stops and I'm waiting thinking I'll be ok. An hour or so later she finally gets home just as I start going hypo. It's happened before but never that bad. I drank my shake and 80 grams of dextrose but I was still shaking, sweating, light headed so bad I had to lay down for about 20 minutes before my blood sugar came back up. I was scared that time. You should be taking some form of carb 10 minutes or so after your shot whether it be dextrose, maltodextrin or both. Right now I'm using waxy maize starch. Don't play around like that. The slin is active even if you can't feel it. 10iu's is plenty.

I hear you Jerseyboy and believe me, I've researched the shit out of slin for about 3 years now. I know enough to not play around, I literally had my dextrose in my hand, and a coke, and dextrose tabs....

The same night we were posting this I went hypo right before bed. It was really strange cause I already had my protein shake and my waxy maize and a good size meal. It was about an hour and a half after my shot and I recognized the symptoms right away. I started sweating and got real hungry. I ate some glucose tabs and drank another 80 grams of waxy maize and was fine in about ten minutes. I was checking my blood levels which had dropped to 60. After the carbs they came back up to 110. I didn't get home from the gym til 10 so it goes to show taking your shot later at night is risky too.
