In terms of side effects, IGF and insulin are very much alike. Since both of these compounds effect blood glucose levels, you will find wether you use IGF and/or insulin you may experience hypoglycemia symptoms. Having said this, when you use these compounds I would make sure you have simple suagrs on hand (dextrose or an energy drink) incase hypo symptoms start to occur.
IGF is not as sensetive side effects wise as insulin is. You will find that it is much easier to experience hypoglycemia symptoms when using insulin so I guess its would be a good idea to keep in mind that insulin is a little bit more dangerous in that regard.
In tersm of diet, insulin once again is more complicated than IGF. When using insulin there are proper eating protocols one should follow, where-as with IGF the eating side of things are not as important.
Wether you use IGF or insulin, if you do everything right you should have no problems so ensure you know everything before use.
Good luck.
