Does GH affect your TSH level?
Group,
42yo w/Graves disease of the thyroid
**. as prescribed by my endocrinologist:
-175mcgs of Synthroid
-15mcgs of Cytomel
Eight weeks ago my TSH was 32 (Thirty-two), so my endo upped my Cytomel from 10mcg's to 15mcg's. I considered that a small changed and he said, no if you take more you will overdose.
Well, I have been on 2iu's of GH for 7 weeks, 5 on and 2 off and 100mg of Prop EOD. Today I got my TSH and it was 0.04 (yes zero.zero-four NOT 0.4) so he asked me what I wanted to decrease the T-3 or T-4. I don't think the GH has had time to kick in much, however, my weight is the same, but I have gone from a 34 waist to a 32 in the past 7 weeks.
So did the increase of T-3 or Cytomel, from 10mcg's to 15mcg's that help me drop some bodyfat or was it the GH?
Also, what affected my TSH from 32 to 0.04? I know Prednisone will increase TSH, however, does a compound such as Propinate lower ones' TSH?
So...
1. Did the T-3 (Cytomel) cause the fatloss ?
2. Did the GH start to kick in after 7 weeks?
3. Did the combo of BOTH lower body fat%?
And finally, Prednisone is MUCH different than Propinate, I know that, but did Propinate lower my TSH and is responsible for the decreased bodyfat?
I must admit, whatever it is, I don't want it to stop as I'm looking much better than I have in the past year or so!!
Thanks for your responses in advance!
