    Insulin Use

    Hi,

I have used 5-7ius of insulin in the past for a few weeks at a time, but I always take about a 4-5 week break from using insulin. I only train 3days a week because I do not like overtraining and train more for powerlifting. I would like to start using 5-7ius of insulin for 4weeks at a time and then only take about two weeks off and do this routine for a while. Just wondering if this is OK, or do I need to take more time off between insulin use. thanks

If you're concerned with long term use buy yourself a glucose meter. They're cheap and worth it considering the alternative. I don't use insulin but I know people that are not diabetic that do use it year round. They check their glucose levels frequently without any issues at all.

If you plan to use insulin , you really should have a glucose meter. You can get one for about $20 at WalMart and the test strips are about 40 cents each. You really should know what your blood glucose level is if you are using insulin. Knowing your blood glucose will help you be more effective and safer with your dosing and may keep you out of trouble. It's very easy to use.
