    Happy as an hgh clam!

Almost 3 months since I've seen some friends I hadn't seen in awhile-- this past weekend at a POOL PARTY-- and one of my girlfriends said: "YOU ARE LOOKING GOOD! YOU ARE LOSING WEIGHT GIRL!!!" so-----I think it is finally working!

Excellent! You are also using T, E and other hormones correct? Do you know where your levels of those are yet?

Your results are interesting. My mom is on HRT and cannot get her E much above 50. All the books I've read say benefits really start once E is above 100. She uses bi-est which sounds similar to what you use. Her T is 87 now from her T cream and she really feels better like that.

Many women do not absorb estrogen and progesterone very well transdermally. Dr Johnathan Wright talks about the vaginal/muccosal method working better.

I am premonopausal but use progesterone vaginally 10 days per month and supplement with an estriol cream transdermally but I do use small pieces of bio identical estradiol tabs either bucally or vaginally depending on where I am in my cycle. I read about this on forums where women post hysterectomy could not get thier levels up, after trying it this way, they got astounding results. Only 1/6- 1/4 regular dose is needed.

I wish there were more female HRT discussions somwhere at this site.

I love HGH. Gives the physique that 'special' touch and look.

I don't know why my username does not say female. I spend some time learning and contributing over at the HRT section here since my husband is on HRT also. I am passionate about learning all I can about hormonal and physiological issues in both sexes but at first the guys over there may have been a little weirded out discussing 'sensitive' male issues with a woman. So maybe it is just as well my username doesn't scream that I'm female.

I have to say everyone has been welcoming and polite over there though. I inject 8mg of T a week so i guess that counts as trt somehow.

It would be good to get some female HRT discussions going. A great thing that your thyroid is working better. I have seen a study that shows HGH improves thyroid function. Many on thyroid meds need to lower their doses of thyroid meds after HGH as they become hyper on their previous dosage. Will find that study if you want to see it. Are you using HC to help your adrenal function or is your's okay?

I was not a "female" member for awhile and liked it for the same reason---but now I feel okay since everyone is very welcoming as you mentioned---I have not tried HC---if you are speaking of cortef or something like this but have wondered about it and even mentioned it to my doc a few months ago---my dhea is high if that has anything to do with why he would not want me on it-----I have been obsessed with all of this since January starting with the Armour vs Synthroid then moving onto all of the hormones and now the gh--I feel I am my own experiment! I am glad you have seen a study about hgh helping the thyroid--this is great since I have seen the opposite many times--if you get a chance to post this I would love it and am sure others would too----I am glad you are here too PCC!

SlimmerMe, did all your hormones just crash at once or did the thyroid crash after you got on replacement? Pics!

Here's the study, looks like GH helps the conversion from inactive T4 to active T3 so that's always a good thing regarding the thyroid.

CARL GRUNFELD, BARRY M. SHERMAN and RALPH R. CAVALIERI. The Acute Effects of Human Growth Hormone Administration on Thyroid Function in Normal Men. Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism Vol. 67 (5) 1111-1114.

GH replacement therapy may lead to alterations in serum TSH and/or thyroid hormone values in GH-deficient patients, but there is no consensus on the explanation for these changes.

We examined the effect of GH administration (0.125 mg, sc, daily for 4 days) on thyroid function in 20 normal men. Serum T4 levels decreased by 8%, and serum free T4 index values decreased by 5%. In contrast, serum T3 levels increased by 21%; serum rT3 did not change.

These changes were accompanied by a 54% decrease in the mean serum TSH level. While it is not possible to draw conclusions about hormone production and disposal rates from changes in serum levels, these data are most consistent with enhanced extrathyroidal (including intrapituitary) conversion of T4 to T3 and a compensatory decrease in TSH secretion.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

I asked about the cortef becuase as I understand it, many need to supplement that in order for their thyroid meds like armor, erfa or cytomel to work properly. HC helps uptake the thyroid into cells. T4 - T3 conversion also requires sufficient ferritin (70-150) and enough B12.

But if your thyroid numbers are looking good, I would not mess with cortef. HC is hard to test in the human body due to just the idea of a lab environment or enven spitting saliva into a vial causing cortisol spikes. In too high amounts cortisol is catabolic, lowers GH and is hyperglycemic. That is why some gain weight on it. But for those who are deficient in it, when replaced it allows their thyroid to work better and weightloss occurs.

There's so much debate on whether to use cortef or not. Some think if enough pregnenolone is supplemented, along with vit C and B vitamins, that will raise HC naturally and over dosing won't be a problem. But it's hard to supplement such high amounts of pregnenolone becuase it can be a 5 -AR and some feel terrible at high doses with libido reduction - yuck! I have two friends who tried adrenal extracts but this did not fix their low cortisol issues. They both use HC now.

Anyway, GH does suppress cortisol, so if you feel great on GH, I doubt your's was too low. I've read that those who feel less energetic on GH need to first address their low cortisol then restart GH. I bet you've found as I have that the way these hormones feed back into one another is very complex and it is hard to play God and figure them all out. But it is worth a good shot though LOL.

Thanks for your kind words, I've enjoyed reading about your journey.
