HGH timing and shift work??
From what I read, it looks like most people recommend taking your shot first thing AM. I work shift work, doing 3 days, 3 nights, 6 off. on my day shifts I shoot first thing i the AM. Night shifts I shoot right when I get home from work, so it is first thing in the AM, but it is right before I go to bed.
Anybody else in this situation?? Do you change your shot timing on night shift, and shoot it when you wake up in the afternoon instead??

I would think that since the bodys natural levels are highest during sleep, that you shouldnt do it b4 you go to sleep even though its in the am. I would speculate that the opitimal time for you would be whenever it is that you wake up from a "nights" sleep. ("nights" meaning whenever it is you sleep, whether day or night). Im pretty sure the rule of thumb of doing it in the am is referring to the fact that most people are on a schedule when this is when they awaken from their sleep for the day. I dont think the actual time of day really matters as much as doing it when you first awaken is. This is just my speculation on the subject from what ive learned so wait for others to chime in. good luck on getting your timing to work well for you.

Man, shift work's really hard on the body. When I used to do it in the oil fields I never felt rested. Since your biological time's all thrown off I don't know how that would affect your growth hormone pulses. My best guess would be still pin right after you wake up.

Well see the natural pulses thing, is why I keep pinning in the morning. Being that I only work 3 night shifts, before switching back to a day shift routine. My bodies circadian rhythm doesn't have a chance to switch over. So my pulses should still be happening at night time, even though I am awake.
Just thought someone might have some actual study on this or something.

Biggest pulse is in the first few hours of going to sleep more so than the time of day/night I would imagine

I don't think it's the fact that you are asleep or that it is night time that causes a gh pulse. The body releases gh when blood glucose levels are the lowest which happens to be a few hours after you fall asleep, because you are not eating.
