USA, how is HGH prescribed? Does every doc interpret the rules the same?
Dwarfism, deficiency, Aids muscle wasting... Can a deficiency exist if your IGF-1 is withing normal ranges? Will some docs take into account symptoms, or other health information and write a script?

Anti-aging docs will write a script is they feel you would benefit.

SlimmerMe,
Thank you for that information. Is that typical of these types of clinics, or is it a hit or miss situation?

Since you are 40, as I checked your profile, I don't think it would be difficult to get a script from an anti-aging doc. They are known for it as they believe hgh does help with the fountain of youth!

Anti-aging clinics are more commercially driven then your general practitioners. They make money when they prescribe treatment. You get what you want and the doc gets what he wants.

I agree with the above, you can get one very easily at the anti-aging clinics. I personally spoke with some this week, the script is very easy to get. But it's going to cost you, I'm not sure where you live but most of them I talked with charge around a couple hundred for the consult and blood work being about the same. Then paying monthly for your prescription. The key IMO, is finding one that will take your insurance. Good luck!!

Do they typically write you a script, or do I have to buy it at the clinics? I really doubt insurance will pay, so don't care about that. I live in Seattle. Anyone know about the likelyhood of success here, or should I plan on traveling out of state to find a doc that can help me?

The anti-aging clinics that I know makes a lot of money selling HGH and other AAS. They make more by giving you the injections. They do have good quality gear.

99% of the time your insurance will NOT cover it. So be ready to pay between 7$-9$ per iu for the script. Sone anti-aging used to sell their own GH , but it was just generics out of china.

Most AA docs make their money on scripts. They get a kickback in many cases. And they will write a script and have it shipped to you from a place across the country since they "deal" with that pharmacist. They meet the pharmacist at anti-aging conventions and throw each other the business. I had stuff shipped in from several places and not from "just down the street."
And re: insurance? CASH.I tried every which a way but no go

^^^ World Health dot net.....Life Extention magazine, and S. Somers.....
good or not? need to call around and ask if they do what you want for them to do....takes a bit of research to find the right match...
ps: there is A LOT of AA talk in the HRT forum. You might get a lot of hints/tips there as the members in that forum are VERY familiar with this topicLast edited by SlimmerMe; 07-01-2011 at 12:38 PM.

Figured I'd give an update. I got a script from a regular family doc. What I learned from this, is that some docs are willing to put their neck out on the line, if they believe it's medically sane and will help the patient. This is rare. Been to many docs, most are cowards grinding away their 8+ hour day for a paycheck. They aren't in the business of actually caring to help people. Just like Mary Jane. It's illegal, but docs still prescribe it. These docs are good people, and most docs are a bunch of greedy f***s, who don't give a damn about the spirit if medicine.
