How many round of insulin...??

Hey guys,

I'm going to try insulin for the first time in a couple of months and I was wondering about how many "rounds" (of 4-5 weeks) can I do being in the safe way?

I mean, my idea is to do 4 weeks on, 6-8 weeks off and 4 weeks on, again.

Can I extend this round ON-OFF for more than two or three months without affecting my pancreas?
