    L-Glutamine

    I thought I would share this. I take L-Glutamine on a regular basis. I never new exactly when the best time to take it was until I read a recent article. Several articles I read stated the same thing. Taking as little as 2 grams of L-Glutamine before bed helps raise Human Growth hormone levels while you sleep which is highly beneficial for muscle growth and repair.

    Yeah glutamine is a great amino acid and can never hurt to take it, i take around 20-40g per day right now to repair. At some point it got the same voluminizing effect has creatine.

    as far as a secretague, GABA and arginine have more of an effect. Glutamine is a mild, if that, secretague.

    Gaba screws me up real good, i got the powder which is god awful to start with and it numbs you. I did not like the feeling at all. The pills did nothing for me. Arginine i will look into this thanks Times

    as a secretague, the dose of arginine is 5 - 7 grams right before bed. the cheap bulk arginine (L-Arginine) has a taste of something between an old fish and dirty sox. both my son and I agree it is one of the more distasteful supplements out there.

    Too bad about the GABA. the stuff i got from Nutrabio wasn't bad. it will give you a niacin like buzz that lasts for a few minutes.

    there are very few HGH secretagues out there. L-Arginine is the "best" as it is used in the medical community to test the pituatary for GH release.

    I think the order is like this

    L-Argine
    GABA
    L-Glutamine

    I've taken L-Arginine before as a pre-workout drink. Didn't like the flushing and itching that came with it. Best of Luck!!

    Ok got myself some deals at bb.com for all of this. Will try gaba again in powder, gluatmine i needed more so its all good i got there supplement from bb.com called recovery and arginine in pill format too. I really wanted to order from Nutrabio but they do not ship to Canada only US there product look very good. Sucks

    with the arginine before bed, if you are going to shoot for the recommended 5 - 7 grams, that's alot of pills to be swallowing and probably expensive too, am i right?

    secretagues work best right before bed, preferably on an empty stomach. I really have a hard time with that one, an "empty" stomach right before bed? I eat like every two hours, how am I supposed to do that?

    answer: I couldn't, so I stopped worrying about secretagues.

    I don't eat every 2 hours i have read a lot of research on this and also decided to quit eating like that. I eat when i am hungry and i stop eating around 7pm at night, i don't have the whey protein shake before bed either, i will have 5g of glutamine because i read a lot of good about it, same has GABA before bed. Not sure how much arginine i will be taking probably what is recommended on the label.

    I don't worry at all has long has the weight keeps going down and i am stripping the fat it does not mater how i do it, low carbing, low fat, intermittent fasting, eating 5-6 times a day.

    Your over dosing 15mg is plenty

    Yeah but i am using it to repair with prolotherapy this is why i use a high dosage, after all is repaired i will drop back down a bit

    Would it be more beneficial to take BCAA supplement with all the amino acids before bed instead of just Glutamine? Thanks!!

    I take 2-4 g before bed. It's effect on my sleep is amazing. Deep, deep sleep.

    Remember, that with secretagues, the older you get, the less they work, until sometime in your 40's it becomes such a low release it's not worth it.
