Just curious as to how often it happens? Have you or do you personally know someone that went hypo and passed out? What happened?

Yes, you sweat, you get hungry, REAL hungry, you get dizzy, you talk gibberish, then you punch your girlfriend in the face and pass out....Something similar to this....

It can be light and hard and can come on very fast....Especially if you are experimenting and don't know what to expect...Also, if you are not diabetic which I am assuming you are not, it is easier to go "hypo" because your body still produces insulin which makes it even more dangerous....

Never seen it first hand but a girl I work with crashed on the way to work because her BG went too low. Said she felt paralyzed and dizzy. Drove into a gas station

I've seen it. It is rare to go that far though. It's really simple. If you feel odd, drink some oj and sit down until it passes. You should know your body well enough to know when something is wrong.

I have not actually passed out, but when I first started using I had to work late so my workout was late. That left me pinning at 9 which is an hour before I usually go to bed. Well I had read that the active life was approx 2 hrs so I stayed up that long (struggling) then went to bed. Woke up about 12 soaked in sweat with my heart beating so hard I could hear it in my ears, after drinking some sugar water I was so disoriented that I remember thinking I was supposed to do something with 911 but I did not know if I was supposed to log onto this website to do it....So safe to say I was probably pretty close to passing out. Finally about 15 minutes later it finally passed.

Interesting note: I have recently looked up the active life again and its listed as 3-5 hrs...maybe they have read my posts and revised their estimates JOKE or more likely I should have checked more than one source :-)

Humalog normally mostly clears my system in about 2.5 hrs, but being tired can greatly extend Humalogs active life. Lesson learned, Dont Pin Slin When Tired.

Hey, it did sound pretty similar to my description ha.....The active life is for a DIABETIC! You are not diabetic right????

Your body still makes insulin which is why I said it can be more dangerous...Plus everyone is different, so I would suggest not taking before bed until you know your bodies reaction to it perfectly.....

fyi.............. a few months ago i had some ansomone direct .

i was ignorant , i know.anyway i pinned 10i.u late at night before bed ,i had a few glasses of wine too ...... a couple of hours later i woke up and went for a piss . while having a piss i blacked out for a second , enough so that i fell to the floor but was able to get back up again and felt a bit dizzy while walking back to bed and went straight to sleep and felt fine next day

this happened twice . both times i had pinned 10i.u late at night

second time was quite bad and damaged my color bone ..... dont know what it means but i havent done it again

    ok . thanks anyway
i wasnt sure what it was . just thought more than coincidental because of pinning the g.h .i was really responding to the passing out

i still have no clue why / what happened

even now . i pin 5i.u e.d early morning and i have to say tho any time i have food or a couple of pints (later in the day ) i feel very tired quickly and sometimes will nap for 30 mins ......
