Lots of threads. What exactly are your stats and what are you trying to accomplish?

Stats are 6'2" 210lbs 22% bf 40 yr old, have done a cycle of test only. I was looking into doing a cutting cycle next and was looking into possibly using T3/T4 with it. At this time was just looking for info on usage/dosage to decide if it was something I wanted to use or not.

You can. the problem is that T3 is not very picky, it will eat at both; fat and muscle. You can protect your muscle by administering a low dose of testosterone , around 250mg weekly.
So let's say you decided to run a moderate dose of testosterone along with T3, you still have one more objection to overcome. That is your current body fat percentage. At 22% body fat you carry quite a bit of aromatase enzymes. Depending on how diligent you are with blood work, estradiol management could prove to be cumbersome, and that comes with lots of side effects.
So you have good and bad effects. But body fat certainly plays against you. If you'd like, I recommend taking a look at synephrine. It's been quite effective for me and several users. you can see their comments, reviews and mini-logs in the supplement section where I started the thread. It's safe, effective and does no harm to muscles, so no exogenous testosterone required.
Here is a link.
But if you insist on T3 (I wouldn't worry about T4). You can start with a minimum of 50 mcg daily. You can run this as long as you wish. Check your temperature frequently to avoid dangerous levels. You can increase to 75mcg, but there is no need for more in most cases. There is no need to taper off, you can just stop using it when done.
Best of luck to you.Last edited by austinite; 08-25-2013 at 02:42 PM.

Just read over the link you provided and I definitely think I will try this soon.
You recommended a dose of T3 at 50mcg with the possibility of going up to 75mcg. At this dose would I need to be running test with it or would that dose be ok to run without?
Also I am still interested in researching T3, could you point me in the right direction. I am having no luck finding anything using the advanced search.
Thx Austinite!! I really appreciate your help.

Yes, you would need testosterone . You naturally produce about 25 mcg, anything higher is going to modify your natural state.
I can't really point to any specific threads. Sorry. Just too many. Use the search function or observe the link below...

IMHO I think that taking T3 or T3/T4 without being under a doctors care can be dangerous. One can get something called a Thyroid storm and end up in the hospital. It is not real common but I do see people coming into the hospital with this condition. In fact, one of my friends that is a doctor had this happen to him. You can google Thyroid storm and read all about it. I would want to have blood work done before I stated taking T3 or the combo myself. I had borderline T3 and low T4. After getting the Ok from my doctor to hit the gym again, in just over a month my T3 and T4 shot way up. I really like the link that austinite posted. I have not taken Chromium Picolinate in years, think I might just add that back into my supplements. I thought in didnt help with weight loss, guess I was thinking wrong. Thanks again austinite.

T4 and hgh can be a very effective too to reduce bf. While doing your research it may be wise to lose as much bf as possible naturally before getting into all of the goodies. Plan it out as a long term goal and by the time you are in the mid teens with your bf you would have found plenty of info to draw your own conclusions. Diet is huge....carb cycling is also a great tool to help lose bf. Good luck.

In short, it regulates metabolism...Meaning how fast your body uses energy....
Hence, when people say "I have SLOW metabolism" they mean my body does not burn through energy fast....
Hence, again, the people that you usually say this eat one meal day and want they have done is SLOW their metabolism down...
As the body produces thyroid hormones what many are worried about most is the ACTIVE hormone which is T3....
So what does it have to do with metabolism....Well, hypothetically, you could sit at Mickey D's all day and still lose weight...Of course, we're talking about complete overdose here...Last edited by calstate23; 08-28-2013 at 04:43 PM.

And is why cardio is important....When you do cardio basically you have changed metabolism for the day....
By doing cardio, you FORCE your body to use energy....So let's say someones maintenance caloric intake for the day was 1,000 calories....Meaning, they should not lose or gain weight if they hit that number....
Well, if they did 30 minutes of cardio and burned roughly 350-400 calories...Their metabolism for the day is now 1,350-1,400 calories...Meaning, they could hypothetically eat 1,350-1,400 calories that day and it would be as if they only ate 1,000 cals...Now if they ate their usual 1,000 calories like they normally do\id, they would be 350-400 calories short...
Now let's also say they didn't use that 1 TBLS on mayo along with the cardio...Now they are about short 500 cals for the dayLast edited by calstate23; 08-28-2013 at 04:57 PM.

And yes...Just like cardio you don't want to do/use to much because when your body needs fuel it takes it from anywhere it can get...
Of course, UNLESS you are in a constant state of ANABOLISM....Which is what state Professional bodybuilders are in when they start cutting....
If they weren't in constant anabolic state during cutting they would not only lose too much weight but they would also burn through all that hard earned muscle....
Right, of bodybuilder in off season is gain as much muscle as possible...Then they want to keep as much of that as possible while just trying to melt da fat

And of course, as much as thyroid hormones are used to regulate metabolism....
That is not ALL that is for or should be used...Thyroid hormones increase the ability of other hormones....
For instance, like insulin and gh have a synergetic effect...Well, your thyroid meds aren't there just for your cutting....
They are there to be another piece in the puzzle to increase each hormones effect on one another....

Ill have to look into carb cycling, think I saw a thread on it somewhere on this forum. I definitely wanted to do research into T3 before I used it, sounds like some pretty potent stuff that you need to know what your doing before you take it. I was really hoping there was a guide for it here like "All you need to know about T3".
