Hi,
So I recently got my hands on some Genotropin GoQuick 36iu pens. Now, I realize they're for subq injecting only, but I'm use to still aspirating even when subq injecting as there's apparently still a small chance you can hit a vessel when subq injecting. With these pens I'm either missing something or there's no way to aspirate with them. They don't have a plunger, they just have a button which you press in and hold to inject yourself, so there's nothing to pull back. Now this seems very stupid to me and a bit unsafe, they prescribe these pens to children and you can't aspirate with them, how is that ever safe?
Am I being really old fashioned here or have I got a point? I don't feel particularly happy injecting without aspirating even if I am subq injecting, I like to be on the safe side with everything and it turns out I can't.
Surely others on here have run Genotropin or similar pharma brands where there's no option to aspirate, what did you do about it? Is aspirating necessary? Is there actually a way to aspirate with these pens?
Thanks.
