Confirming a source?

I've been lurking here for some time just taking in as much information as possible. I have a potential source but its online and of course I'm weary about this sort of thing to begin with.

I noticed you can't ask for sources but I didn't see anywhere saying you couldn't ask for confirmation of a source. I know also that theres no way to trust me either so If this seems to sketchy please by all means let me know what to expect and a mod please delete this if its over the line.

I need to know if an online source I have is legitamate, obviously I'd only contact through PM when discussing. I don't want to waste my money but I know nothing is guaranteed when dealing online.

Never mind sorry I posted this, i found a thread saying I need to be an active member for 45 days and 100+ posts, I'll wait my turn. I'm still open to PMs but I understand now that Its unlikely I'll get any.
