IM with an insulin pin?
http://www.************.com/forum/an...ge-510522.html
Reading about IGF-1. About to give it a go. Do not want to inject SubQ because of concerns about inteestinal growth. Planning on injecting IM. This guy says you can site inject IM with an insulin pin? Is this true? I was under the impression that insulin pins were only for SubQ injections. I have 29gauge 1/2 inch insulin pins. That is not big enough for an IM injection, right?

I'd probably just go subQ like most other "water" based injectables. IM with a slin pin, although it technically works, really won't get you very deep since needle length is what? 1/4"? 1/2" at the most.
use the right tool for the right job. If you want to go IM, I'd recommend a min 1" length needle.
but again, I don't think it's necessary to go IM with IGF-1.
I'd be interested in seeing a link to the source data about the risk of intestinal growths?

I hear ya, bro. I've seen no proof or data confirming intestinal growth. I'm just erring on the side of caution, although I admit that I think the concern is pure myth. If I know IM is safer, I'm going to pin IM. I've just never heard of IM injections with such a small needle. I am still researching and not quite ready to start, as I obviously have a bit more to learn. I appreciate the info, and the GW warning.

Times,
Do you see any reason why changing it up would be an issue? SubQ some days, IM others? I know I'll be dosing 50mgs ED PWO. I'm not doing the IM injection for site growth, just the concerns about intestinal growth. I mean hell, if its possible for an IM injection with a 1/2 slin pin then maybe some SubQ injections are IM and that person isn't even aware of it.
I guess what I mean is, is there any reason injecting a water based solution IM is bad? Can anything that is supposed to be injected SubQ be injected IM with the same results? Sorry to hit you with these questions, I've just been reviewing your posts and I'm interested to know your thoughts.

The stuff I've most frequently read is that igf should be administered IM since the igf will react with receptors in the muscle and promote growth. If in the blood stream it will attach to the receptors in the intestine and promote intestinal growth. I don't think igf works anyway so I'm not too concerned with intestinal growth.

I use 29g 1/2" for IM b12 shots. I sink it all the way into my quad. Works great for me.
