My doc just put me on Metformin to try and lower my blood sugar levels. I have an A1C of 6.6. I'm 192lbs, lift 4 days a week, and eat super clean. She was very surprised that I am at risk for Type II diabetes. I've done some research on Metformin, and was wondering if I should possibly increase my carbs since it's notorious for the prevention of glucose and fat storage? I have read where bodybuilders use it in replace of insulin, but since my body actually needs this medicine, I was worried that while I'm bulking right now it would effect my weight gain in a negative way. Any thoughts would be much appreciated! Thank you!
