    IGF1 Levels 393 mg/nl

    Hello

I had IGF1 Bloods done yesterday, and am a bit confused about what Ive researched, and what the Dr is saying.

Id ordinarily take the Dr word as gospel, but this is more of an anti ageing clinic than a traditional Dr and I get the feeling his main aim has always been to upsell services than to provide knowledge.

Any thoughts, or direction to a solid source of info would be appreciated.

    I'm 56 YO
    Been administering 4IU HGH daily
    General health is really good
    Body fat is low

The bloods come back at 393 mg/nl

He said the reference range was 132 - 310 but I see much lower on a Google search?

He strongly advised I halve the dose to 2IU each morning, however, every single bit of research ive done tells me 4IU is a very safe dose.

    Any thoughts would be good.

    Thank you

Well, your IGF-1 is in fact high. Your doc likely has concerns about blood sugar / insulin at that number.

But, when did you inject relative to your blood draw? If your last injection was right before blood work, then that may read a bit high artificially.

    Hello and thank you

    No. It was well after.

I administered at 4am and was tested at 1pm.

Ok. I'll maintain his lower dose recommendation until I can find a credible Dr to speak with (which is difficult).

Ive only ever had Google as a source of information so absolutely scoured it, and was always coming back with 4IU is an absolutely safe amount.

    Thanks again.

It's difficult to articulate, however, I feel your doctor is looking out for your best interests. While 4iu is a nice luxury, the dividend from experimenting with 2iu for a longer duration likely offers a better yield. What else is in the mix, basic TRT, sports HRT or AAS?
