I'm comming back from a torn rotator cuff
and finally after alot of physical therapy had my first real lifting session in about a year and my question is I hit my chest and triceps pretty hard never felt any pain but my shoulder that i tore my rotator cuff in was extremely tight while working out and afterward is this normal and what can I do to loosen it up before and after I lift next time any info will be greatly appreciated.

After I dislocated my shoulder a while back, it helped me to warm up using rubber tubing for resistance, rotating the arm in with constant resistance for a few sets, then out with the resistance for a few sets. This got the joint warm and ready for real weights. It worked for me anyway. Good Luck!

do you still do your rehab exercises even though you are done with PT? i would recomend you keep working on the cuff and lift light unitl you are 100%. give it time, its your first day back

I'm in the same boat, but I possibly have a torn labrum cause my shoulder is clicking when i rotate it. I go for a arthrogram 2 days before christmas for my right shoulder, i have full motion and shit of my arm, but boy did i get weaker, and its alot of pain. All i can say is patience, I've been doing the exercises for about 3 weeks now - building strength back, hopefully i'll recover.
I'll let you guys know
take care of those injuries, go easy till it feels good guys..

labrum is the cartilige that the ball and socket rides on, part of it is connected to bicep tendon i believe. I bet you never heard of a juicehead with bad joints!!!! haha I can just advise rest, i've taken about 2 months off so far, and will take as much as needed. I'm not worried bout a small break, i am worried about ****ing my shoulder up more, and never being able to train again..
be smart, i'll let yall know

i think i have a rotator cuff problem too. it hurts on shoulder day and incline bench. and with no weight if i try to outstretch my arm it hurts a little, some days are terrible. ive been taking aleve and/or motrin and icing it a little. is this something that might just go away? honestly i can deal with the pain, just dont want to injure myself permanently.

shoulder injuries take along time to heal, i had a partial tear in my cuff 3 years ago, it was so bad i couldn't put my car in gear with my rt arm, i had to use my left for 6months, and it took another 6months to fully heal. i tried to lift through it , but mynumbers droped drasticaly light weights is what got me through and it sucked, but i had no choice. be patient and give it time, its all you can do Farrebarre
