    knees hurting on eliptical

for some reason the eliptical is jacking my left knee up. I feel like a build up of pressure on the outer side of it and then have to let off on about mile 2. It doesn't do that on the tread mill but because of my long period of obeseness my knees can't take the shock of a tread mill for very long. It's kinda weird. after i'm done running on eliptical it takes a good 3 days to get my knee back to normal. I th ink it might have to do with the fact that i'm flat footed and tend to run with my feet pointing out a bit and the eliptical machine doenst allow that angle...
