    Poppin in elbow

Two weeks ago on a friday me and some buddies we were all just messin around and I dunno how but we all got into arm wrestling. Me and one of my friends went at it for about 10 min. Right we we got done it felt like I threw my arm out. It felt like I was throwin a baseball or football all day. The next day when I was going to lift and bench I started to bench and had a tremdous pain when I was about half way down. So I figured I prolly pulled or straind somthing. I took off about a week and 1/2 from liftin. Now when I do push ups or bench and stuff like that half way down I feel a popping in my elbow. It does'nt hurt or anything Im just worried if I go really heavy something bad might happen. Any help to this will be greatly appreciated.

Sometime a ligament can move within a completely normal range of motion and you may feel or hear a snapping or popping sensation. I would say that if you do not have pain or any other symptoms there is no need for treatment. However since you said that you had tremendous pain it could be any number of things.
    • A torn ligament, these connect the bones to bones around your joints.
    • Torn cartilage, this covers your bones at the ends and work as a sort of shock absorber that allows for a smooth gliding surface in which you elbow can move.
    • A strain which is caused by overstretching your muscles
    • A torn tendon this connects you muscles to the bones.

If the pain is now gone I doubt it is any of the above things mentioned. However, I would recommend that you do see a doctor for an examination. Elbow injuries can be tricky, reoccurring and very dangerous. See what a doctor says he may recommend you see an athletic therapist which is a good idea. Popping without pain is an early wear and tear warning sign if it is just wear and tear an athletic therapist will help you adjust you training to prevent reoccurrences.
As for right now try a wrap, not to tight thought just enough to give some support and ice after working out.

thank alot gellert32. You really know your stuff. You some sorta dr. or somthing? So do you think I should be concered about it if theres no pain it just pops one time once a rep halfway down. It dont effect me in anyway lifting or anything I can barley notice when it does it. I just dont wanna be max. out and somthign bad happen. You think it could pos. just go away on it's own?

No problem man I love to help and no im not a doctor, not yet at least im a health science student on my way to becoming a doctor… as for you question if there is no pain I would not be overly concerned. However, it is an early sign of possible cartilage tear. Take advantage of this pain free early warning sign and go see an athletic therapist. They will recommend some rehab exercises that will help you out… keep up with icing and a light wrap when lifting. Also I don’t recommend maxing out until you see an athletic therapist or doctor…
God luck, keep me posted on any changes.

Nice post... And yes elbow injuries are very reoccuring.. There is nothing that helps them like a phsysio therapist, they can release locked tendons and ulna nerves!! I would suggest seekeing help as well, better safe then sorry!!!
