    hair relaxing

    i have thick wavy hair and i was getting haircut and my barber suggested i get it relaxed to make it look much better when its straight... i was wondering if anyone has tried this.... or knows about it... i dont want my hair to start thinnning, or shedding because of the treatment....

    A friend of mine gets this done as he has a bit of curl in his hair also. Apparently it's good .. his hair always lokos pretty straight and relxed..haha. However.. i think it depends on teh climate you're in too.. salt water, and blistering heat are no good for it.. a chemical thing

    I know of afew people who do it, and have no problems with hair loss. They've been doing it for afew years now, and love it.

    Yeah, I live here in texas. I got mine relaxed, and 2 days later it was back to same ol same ol. Its hot and humid here, also by the water.

    lol and I spent $100 on that shit....

    one of my barbers told me he can do it for 30 bucks and iw ould have to do it everytime i get a haircut... ill give it a shot and see how it goes.. hopefully it will turn out to look good and last...

    Whoever does it for u make sure they dont touch your scalp with the chemical, it has to be done so that it stays about 1-2cm away from your scalp, so for short hair its hard. The reason is if it touches your scalp there will be chemical burns and hairloss from that.

    oh i didnt know that.. i wonder how the apply it to your hair without having it touch ur scalp... sounds complicated... but ill make sure they dont touch the chemicals on my scalp i dont want any chem goin in my folicles...
