    Unhappy Hair loss @23...

i'm a white/hispanic grew up using gel and mousses... went on to use bees wax for a while also did the pomade for cornrolls and now that I recently cut my hair (4months ago) I could see that the hair on top of my head being substantially thinner and if i see my self in a mirror from far away..(like at the gym) I could see the "the rich mans house" two big entrances in the front and a pool in the back did I mention i'm 23?!!??!! OMG I think I need zoloft for my hair loss lol

So considering my age and other related factors, my question is what is the best product or supplement for my problem?????

Personally if you have the hispanic skin tone (even if you don't)...i'd just start shaving. Every girl i ask about it says shaved is hot. *shrug*

Hairloss sux big time and i do understand your concern, i dont know how advance yours is.

I started to shed on the scalp at 25 and will soon be 34, i havent lost all my hair only a small part but lets just say that my hole on the scalp is apparant and it shows.

Recently i started thinning in front has well.

I started using nioxin shampoo, the cleanser and the scalp therapy, i got some good price on both bottles got both for 28$.

Now i do agree with zimmy about shaving everything off but my main problem is that i look terrible with a shaved head so i decided to invest in my hair.

Right now i will try to get a dermatologist to prescribe me some Propecia and i will buy some rogain has well, i will try this for at least a year.

All of this will be close to 100$ a month and maybe more but from the results i seen on other people its well worth it, i am pertty sure i can get full regrowth.

I am also a big fan of sauna and vapour rooms, you sweat it out real nice and i do beleive that the head sweats out too so it sort of cleans out the poors.

Hairloss starts at around theses ages has well, and sometimes even younger.

This is pertty much the advise i can give you for now good luck.

i take evening primrose oil(gla, ala) zinc and alziec acid al;so b-6 together they reduce the amount of 5-alpha-reductase in your body so it doesnt convert test to dht.

Does anyone of your family has experience balding? Genetic can play a major role. Stress also can cause hair loss. Chemical product from hair spray, mousse, gel can cause hair to be brittle and dry that can result to hair loss. If it's use most of the time!

There's a lot of product out there for people who are balding but like most products everyone have different result on it. You just really have to find one that is suitable for you. The one that really work for most people is hair surgery. I have heard that finastride works for some people. Propecia I heard a lot of good review on it. Like what I said you just have to really find out what products works for you. Consult a Hair Doctor , he would tell you what's best for you.

    Good luck

I did consider surgery at one point myself but it is really expensive, 4500$ from the research i add made.

You can always borrow the money but i add 1 year to pay it back.

Good info. I appreciate the suggestions, from all the info I think I should see a hair doc, but looks like i'll try something topical before going with propecia or something like that. Read a few side effects that left me wondering so I'd prob try this route if all else fails. And surgery would really be my last option. I'll keep you guys updated and try and put some pics on here...

So B6, fatty acids, and zinc?

Do those hair, skin, and nail complexes really work... I know they usually have evening primrose oil and some Vit's... are these incl. in them?

I add strongly considered surgery myself, i even had a case study done on my hair and the surgeon openned a file for me all of this cost me around 80$ but the real operation was estimated at 4800$ for my case, that was back in 2001.

Now i just bought a house so i really dont have that kind of money to put for an operation.

You can borrow the money but you have to pay back within a year.

I tried many things natural stuff , high protein diet, flax oil , and cutting sugar but that didnt do a great deal.

Hey man I feel your pain just like everybody else does. I first started losing my hair probably when I was about 19.....that really sucked. But I used all of the Rogaine and Propecia and all of those things and to be honest they didn't work that well. So eventually I shaved it like any respectable man would. But I just wanted to let you know that I would wait before you have surgery. If you research hair loss enough you will read some articles that talk about how everyday it becomes more and more advanced. Sooner or later they will be able to cure it. So for now my advice is for you to shave it all off and try and look like a bad ass.

    Wait

Funny seeing you here too Wade but in a different context. I actually had a summer job in Beverly Hills at the Bosley Hair Transplant Center answering the phones when I was a teenager. It pretty much is the best in the world. In our instructions to customers, it said that your final hairline will not be known until you are 28-29, so if anyone called under that age, we told them to wait because if they do the work and then you lose more hair it looks really weird. Before making any decision, you should wait until the hairloss either stops or at least you can see what type of hairline you will end of having. That way a talented person can make any work look really natural. Good luck
