    Doc Sust. or anyone else who can help me!!

    Almost two years ago i was into lifting pretty heavy legs and i had the leg press machine set up with a good amount of weight, and on my final rep i really pushed to get it and may have over arched my back a bit and when completing the set my lower back went into a complete spasm. I got an x-ray, and then a MRI and the results came back negative, so luckily there weren't any disk problems. Several doctors have told me I irritated the L4-L5 Faccet joints and this has caused me great discomfort ever since and has only improved a little since injuring my lower back. I havn't squated since, because I am afraid, and because it hurts when i load a lot of weight on my shoulders.

    If anyone has experieced this, do they know of any exercises that could eventually help heal my back.

    I could really use some advice.

    There are many ways you can train without lifting heavy, i been injured for 5 years now, i actually screwed up all my posture lifting heavy, doing squats, deadlifts, standing military press and more.

    Today i am back in the gym, i still have pain and sad thing is that when you get injured you are almost sure to always have a fukking weakness in the back somewhere.

    I add all kind of x rays and more nothing screwed up here, in all my 5 years i went to see so many specialist and had bad experience with almost all of them.

    I am currently working with an osteopath and doing a bit better.

    I dont squat anymore and dont go crazy on weights either, i follow the six star training program that you can find at this website i also bought 2 of there supplements you can get at walmart, CEE and the fat burning pills.

    This training is very good if you follow it, the creatine helps me a bit with recovery and i try to keep a clean diet.

    This is my personnal opinion, i am scared to get back to the heavy weights but at 34 years old i find myself looking a lot better following the sixstar programs then lifting all the heavyweights doing bad forms has i did.

    sounds like a little lumbar traction may help alleviate the pain. also some chiro or osteopathic manipulatons may also help. have you tried any conervative care for the problem since it happened. two years is to long to have this kind of problem, i s the pain constant or occasional?

    also, if it make you feel better,i have cripled myself at least 3 - 4 times doing deadlifts or squats so bad that each time, i couldnt walk for a at least a wk! and each time it would take months to recover, now, i have squated and deadlifted more in my life after the injuries healed, so what i am saying is it is probable , if it is only a nerve root irrtiation to come back in time and be even stronger, so dont give up hope, you just have to rry to fix the problem. for me, it took chiro care, the use of ice, proper daily stretching, and a slight change in my technique, and i havent had another problem in the last 5- 6 years

    Hey doc...

    The pain occurs when i apply a good amount of weight that compresses my spine. For instance, heavy squats, heavy military press, or if i arch my back to much.

    I no it is nothing extremely serious because their is no pain down my leg and the MRI came up good, but i really wants to get back into squating because i'm leaving to play football at UC Davis in a week and i want to be able to work out the way i used to..."HEAVY"!

    I won't lose hope..
    I"v tried the chiropractor and thats helped a Little...i'll just keep it up and hopefully in time this can get better.

    traction is the exact opposite of compression, stretching out of the spine to release pressure, find a chiro who has a spinal decompression/traction machine. not too many have this particular machine because it is expensive. i think one version of this machine is called a vax-d, there have been other posts in this fourm on this particular machine. use the search option and tell me if you find it
